Thaddeus Young (back spasms) is listed as probable on Saturday vs the Magic.
Young was tagged with 'bilateral mid-back spasms' on the injury report which could be a result of logging heavy minutes over the past couple of weeks with Wendell Carter Jr. out. He's been playing extremely well, too, and the Bulls can't afford to lose another big man. He will probably be a game-time decision.
Moe Harkless (left thigh) has been ruled out on Sunday vs the Knicks.
Harkless will miss his eighth straight game for the Heat tomorrow and can remain on waivers.
Gabe Vincent (right knee soreness) is probable on Sunday vs the Knicks.
He only played two minutes on Friday vs the Wizards but even with Gordan Dragic (ankle) and Avery Bradley (calf) sidelined, he adds no fantasy appeal.
P.J. Washington (right foot) has been upgraded to questionable for Sunday's game vs the Wizards.
He's missed Charlotte's last two games but could be back in the lineup tomorrow. Washington will likely go through a morning shootaround before the Hornets clear him to play.
Karl-Anthony Towns (COVID-19) will miss Saturday's game vs the Thunder.
KAT has been ruled out for tonight's matchup vs OKC. Naz Reid will start in his place again and tallied 17 points and nine rebounds last night.
Rodney Hood will remain in the starting lineup on Saturday vs the Knicks.
Derrick Jones Jr. is available to play tonight but will be on a minutes restriction, per Terry Stotts. In his last two games, Hood has totaled 31 points, seven rebounds, five assists and five 3-pointers.
Larry Nance Jr. (wrist sprain) is questionable vs the Bucks on Saturday.
Nance will likely go through a pregame shootaround before the Cavs determine his status for tonight's game vs Milwaukee. He's already missed three straight because of the injury.
Derrick Jones Jr. (left foot sprain) is available to play vs the Knicks on Saturday but will be on a minute restriction.
Jones will suit up for Portland tonight after missing four consecutive games but his minutes will be monitored as will those of Anfernee Simons'. Jones holds no fantasy value at the moment and can be left on the shelf. Damian Lillard (abdominal) will also play vs the Knicks.
Anfernee Simons will be on a minutes restriction vs the Knicks on Saturday night.
Terry Stotts said on Blazers Radio this morning that both Simons and Derrick Jones Jr. will see limited time vs the Knicks tonight. Look for Gary Trent Jr., Rodney Hood and Carmelo Anthony as streaming options.
Nerlens Noel (left knee soreness) ruled out for Saturday's game vs the Blazers.
This injury is a new one for Noel because earlier in the week, he was tagged with a sore left groin. But the Knicks are probably playing it safe here as they play in a back-to-back this weekend with the Heat on schedule for tomorrow. Taj Gibson should pick up Noel's minutes but isn't a reliable fantasy option.
After the Suns' 109-92 win vs the frontcourt-heavy Pistons, Monty Williams hinted that he might play bigger lineups throughout the season.
"I think that's the way we're going to do this going forward," Williams said. "We're seeing all these teams who are big and they're playing big power forwards and points in the paint and production in the paint has been something that we've wanted to nullify as it relates to playing against teams like that. I just felt like we needed more size." This could work out in Frank Kaminsky's favor as he started Friday alongside DeAndre Ayton to match the size of the Pistons. Kaminsky has scored in double-figures in three of his last five games including a 12/13/8 outing vs the Warriors on Jan. 28. Keep an eye on him over the next couple of games when Jae Crowder and Dario are back in the mix before running to waivers.
Lou Williams shot 6-of-10 from the field for 18 points on Friday, hitting three 3-pointers with six assists, two rebounds and one steal in just 22 minutes.
Williams sank a deep 3-pointer to make it a one-possession game with 9.0 seconds left, but Boston hit their free throws and that was the ball game. Paul George (toe/foot) was out tonight and it's unclear if he'll miss more time, but if he does the Clippers will need Sweet Lou to pick up some of the scoring slack. He's yet to exceed 28 minutes in a game this season, though, and at age 34 his fantasy ceiling isn't nearly as high as it used to be.
Nicolas Batum picked up 16 points, seven rebounds, two steals and one assist in 39 minutes during Friday's loss to Boston.
Paul George wasn't available tonight and it was revealed that his "right foot soreness" stems from swelling in a toe bone. He's day-to-day but if that proves to require an extended absence, Batum and Marcus Morris should be leaned on to fill his minutes. Batum has provided a welcome 'comeback' narrative after falling entirely out of the Hornets' rotation last season, doing enough for mid-round roto value (9-cat), so don't hesitate to add him if he's on your waiver wire.
Ivica Zubac scored a season-high 14 points on perfect 7-of-7 shooting during Friday's home loss to the Celtics, adding six rebounds and one block in 20 minutes.
To his credit, Zubac didn't try to do too much tonight with all seven of his makes coming directly at the rim (within four feet). He's making a career-high 64.6% of his shots this season, but even more impressive is that he's 85.2% at the line on a not-insubstantial 2.3 attempts. He's rather boring to roster but you can't argue with the results, as he's maintained steady top-150 value in a bench role this season.
Grant Williams had 11 points, four rebounds, three 3-pointers and two assists in 32 minutes as a fill-in starter on Friday.
Jaylen Brown was out with left knee soreness, and the Celtics opted to supersize the frontcourt with Williams alongside Tristan Thompson, Jayson Tatum and Daniel Theis. There's a modicum of streaming potential here if Brown misses more games, but that's not a given.
Daniel Theis (sore right knee) exited Friday's game after nine minutes and didn't return, finishing with one rebound and one assist.
Theis had arthroscopic surgery back in October, but that was on his left knee. He's been playing without restrictions and coach Brad Stevens suggested he was pulled from Friday's game as a precaution. "I don’t think it’s anything big. He sat a couple of occasions last year for the same thing," Stevens said. "But this stretch is insane, so we have to be smart with all of these guys.” Theis is the only Celtics player to have appeared in every game this season, but that distinction could be in jeopardy vs. Phoenix on Sunday.
Jeff Teague didn't score in 17 minutes off the bench Friday, handing out four assists with two rebounds and one steal.
Teague was quiet in a start on Wednesday and the Celtics opted to go way bigger tonight with Kemba Walker surrounded by Grant Williams, Jayson Tatum, Daniel Theis and Tristan Thompson. Teague didn't produce fantasy-relevant stats with Kemba out early this season, and so far he's faring poorly without Marcus Smart (calf).
Carsen Edwards led Boston's reserves in scoring with 13 points on Friday, hitting 5-of-8 shots with three 3-pointers, four rebounds and two assists in 30 minutes of action.
Edwards benefited from the absence of Marcus Smart (left calf; 2-3 weeks) and Jaylen Brown (left knee; day-to-day), and he was upgraded to the starting five after halftime with Daniel Theis (knee) also getting hurt. The bad news is that beyond an 18-point blip on Jan. 24, Edwards has been persona non grata in fantasy leagues all season. With Payton Pritchard back from a knee injury and Brown and Theis potentially returning Sunday, Edwards is only worth monitoring in deeper leagues.
Celtics coach Brad Stevens said Jaylen Brown's left knee soreness was "building in recent weeks" prior to his DNP on Friday.
Stevens said a 'load management' option with prescribed rest days could be an option, but only if Brown's pain doesn't go away. "It’s more day-to-day than [thinking about load management]," Stevens said. "But certainly if you play him and he has to sit [repeatedly], it would be something we’d have to look at." It's unclear if Brown will be cleared to return in Phoenix on Sunday, but either way the health of his knee will be subject to increased scrutiny in the wake of Stevens' quote.
Payton Pritchard (sprained right MCL) returned to action on Friday with eight points on 3-of-4 shooting, two 3-pointers, two rebounds and two assists in 19 minutes.
Pritchard's return was a relief for the short-handed Celtics, and coach Brad Stevens wanted to see him even more aggressive tonight. "I had to tell him to shoot, so the very next time he touched the ball, he jacked one right in front of me and he made it," Stevens said. "So he’s a good listener." Marcus Smart will miss multiple weeks with a tear in his left calf, and Jaylen Brown was also out tonight due to left knee soreness. He's worth a speculative add in deeper formats, but he'll need more than 20 minutes per game to make a dent in 12-team leagues.
