Rudy Gobert double-doubled in a 112-91 win over the Hawks on Thursday with 11 points (5-of-12 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), 12 rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 27 minutes.
This game wasn't remotely close and Gobert got the best of Clint Capela, limiting him to six points on 3-of-14 shooting. The Jazz are on fire with 13 wins over their last 14 games and Gobert has been their defensive anchor with the team ranking 6th in defensive rating. Gobert and Donovan Mitchell were once at odds with each other in what was described as an "unsalvageable situation," but the two are thriving alongside each other and the Jazz are generating some buzz as a title contender.
Jordan Clarkson scored 23 points in an easy 112-91 win over the Hawks on Thursday, going 9-of-13 from the field with seven rebounds and five triples in just 25 minutes.
This game was over quickly which explains the low minutes for all the regulars, but Quin Snyder did let Clarkson pad his stats a bit in garbage time with seven of his points in the fourth. The Clarkson we're seeing this season is the same player we saw in the Orlando bubble, as he's become a Sixth Man of the Year candidate with 17.7 points, 1.7 dimes and 3.1 triples on 47% shooting in just 25 minutes, putting him on pace for top-60 numbers in 9-cat.
Mike Conley scored 11 points with four assists, one rebound and one triple in 22 minutes vs. the Hawks on Thursday.
Don't sweat about the low minutes as this game was a blowout. Conley leads the Jazz in fantasy value this season with top-45 numbers, but the advanced stats love him even more -- Conley has an absurd +16.8 net rating which leads all NBA players who see the floor for more than 20 minutes per night.
JaMychal Green will join Jamal Murray, Will Barton, Paul Millsap and Nikola Jokic on Thursday vs. the Lakers.
With Gary Harris (adductor) out, the Nuggets are going to go with a jumbo lineup instead of starting Michael Porter Jr. who appears to be in the doghouse. Green has been sneaky good in limited minutes this season but he's just a low-end streamer for now.
Cam Reddish made another start on Thursday vs. the Jazz, but hit 5-of-14 shots for 12 points with three dimes, two rebounds, one steal and one turnover in 31 minutes.
Cam was ice cold coming into tonight, averaging 5.0 points on 26% shooting over his previous three games. With Trae Young (calf contusion) out we were hoping to see Cam turn a corner, and while he was more aggressive, it didn’t translate to much success. It’s hard to give up on Cam after the upside he showed us in the second half of his rookie season and he’s had some bright spots this season too, but the inconsistent play makes it tough to justify holding onto him right now. Just be ready to add him back when he figures it out because he has all the tools.
Rajon Rondo got the start for Trae Young (right calf contusion) on Thursday vs. the Jazz, finishing scoreless on 0-of-7 shooting with eight assists and six rebounds in 28 minutes.
Trae is day-to-day and coach Lloyd Pierce said he was hopeful that this start would help Rondo get himself going, but that wasn’t the case. With Trae likely back this weekend, Rondo is safe to drop if you picked him up to stream some dimes, and you have to wonder if Kris Dunn (ankle) will take Rondo's minutes when he's eventually cleared.
David Nwaba (left ankle sprain) will not play on Thursday vs. Memphis.
He only had a "small chance" of playing but the Rockets will play it safe for the third straight game. Danuel House and Ben McLemore will each get a slight boost with this news, but House is the only relevant player in fantasy leagues.
Payton Pritchard (knee) is questionable for Friday's game vs. the Clippers.
Kemba Walker should be back in action tomorrow night, so Pritchard's playing status won't make much of an impact in fantasy hoops. We'll have a better idea of where he's at based on his activity level at Friday's shootaround. Stay tuned.
Iman Shumpert is available to make his debut on Friday against the Raptors.
Shumpert has cleared protocol and can play on Friday, but he's unlikely to see much action. We'll update if he becomes a part of the rotation.
Collin Sexton is questionable to play on Friday against the Bucks due to a neck strain.
This is a new injury for Sexton that was first reported Thursday night. On Wednesday, he scored 27 points with five assists, one rebound, one steal, and a made 3-pointer. If he can't play, Darius Garland will take on a bigger role, and Dylan Windler could see more minutes. Windler played 20 minutes on Wednesday, scoring four points with five rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and one steal.
Goran Dragic and Gabe Vincent are both probable to play on Friday against the Wizards.
Dragic has made just 5-of-20 shots from the field in his two games back from injury, scoring 13 points with 12 assists. He'll look to bounce back against a Wizards team that beat the Heat by three points in the first game of their series on Wednesday.
Avery Bradley (right calf) will not suit up for Friday's game vs. the Wizards.
Bradley is likely looking at a multi-game absence with the calf injury that he suffered on Wednesday, which will lead to more minutes for Andre Iguodala, Max Strus and Goran Dragic. Bradley belongs on the waiver wire in all formats.
Moe Harkless won't play on Friday against the Wizards due to a left thigh contusion.
This marks seven straight games on the bench for Harkless. Max Strus and Andre Iguodala will fill in his role but neither are reliable fantasy options.
Raul Neto (left groin) has been ruled out for Friday's game vs. the Heat.
Groin injuries can be tricky, so Neto will likely be taking his time getting back. He's typically a non-factor anyway, but Ish Smith will get a marginal boost with Neto on the sidelines.
Onyeka Okongwu (left Achilles soreness) will not suit up for Thursday's game vs. Utah.
This will be his third straight game on the sidelines, but even if he were active, he'd likely be collecting DNP-CDs with both John Collins and Clint Capela healthy.
Naz Reid (wrist) is probable for Friday's game vs. the Thunder.
Reid looked fine through 32 minutes as a starter on Wednesday, and he should be looking at a similar workload with Karl-Anthony Towns (COVID-19) still on the inactive list for tomorrow's game. Reid is worth a look in most leagues.
D'Angelo Russell is questionable to play on Friday against the Thunder with a right quad bruise.
Russell played through the injury on Wednesday, scoring 20 points on 8-of-20 shooting with five assists, two rebounds, and one 3-pointer in 31 minutes. He's been listed as questionable to play and then played for multiple games now. There's a good chance he gives it a go on Friday.
Jarrett Culver (left ankle) will remain on the sidelines for Friday's game against the Thunder.
Wouldn't it be nice if the Timberwolves offered timetables for their injured players? This will be Culver's sixth straight game on the inactive list, and we have no idea how far along he is in his recovery, although getting ruled out a day in advance of tip-off suggests he's not close. Anthony Edwards should continue to start and see quality minutes in his absence.
Juancho Hernangomez (conditioning) is questionable for Friday's game vs. Oklahoma City.
He's still trying to get himself into game shape after being quarantined for a few weeks, and that's been difficult with very little practice time. With the way Jarred Vanderbilt has been playing, Hernangomez might not even have a spot in the rotation once he's ready again. Leave him on the wire.
Derrick Rose is probable to play on Friday after recovering from a non-COVID illness.
Rose missed Tuesday night's game against the Jazz due to a stomach bug, but he practiced on Thursday and should be good to go in the game against the Suns. Rose ranks No. 154 of all players in 9-cat leagues.
