Players News

Chuma Okeke (left knee) is available to play on Tuesday against the Raptors.

Feb 01   6:43 PM

The rookie hasn't played a game since December 31st after suffering a bone bruise in his knee, but now he's available to play with Aaron Gordon sidelined for four-to-six weeks. In five games this season, he only averaged 3.0 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 18.2 minutes, but keep an eye on him with an opportunity to play bigger minutes.

Nicolas Batum is questionable to play against the Nets on Tuesday due to a left groin contusion.

Feb 01   5:57 PM

Batum sat out Sunday's game against the Knicks, and Patrick Patterson started in his place. He scored 13 points with three rebounds and one block in 20 minutes. Marcus Morris came off the bench and scored 11 with three rebounds in 28 minutes. Morris is the better play if Batum is sidelined again, but neither are great options with Paul George and Kawhi Leonard back in the rotation.

Meyers Leonard won't play on Monday against the Hornets due to a left shoulder strain.

Feb 01   5:57 PM

Leonard hasn't played since January 9th, but his absence has little impact on fantasy managers. He played a small part in the rotation, and Miami's settled in with Precious Achiuwa playing steady rotation minutes. Neither are worth rostering for now.

Avery Bradley (right knee) is questionable for Monday's matchup with Charlotte.

Feb 01   5:57 PM

He's missed the past two games, but it looks like he's headed for a game-time call tonight. Whether he plays or not won't make a huge impact in fantasy hoops.

Moe Harkless won't play on Monday against the Hornets with a left thigh contusion.

Feb 01   5:57 PM

Harkless hasn't played since January 23rd, and another game out means additional minutes for KZ Okpala. The second-year player logged 20 or more minutes in three of his last four games but hasn't produced much in the box score, never passing five points or five rebounds in a game. You can leave him on the waiver wire.

Avery Bradley is playing on Monday against the Hornets despite a right knee contusion.

Feb 01   5:57 PM

Bradley injured his knee in his first game back from medical protocols in 18 days and then sat the next three games. But Miami will have him, along with Goran Dragic, Andre Iguodala, Tyler Herro, and Gabe Vincent all in the lineup on Monday. The Heat aren't all the way healed, but they're somewhere close. Bradley won't make a big impact for fantasy managers, though.

Onyeka Okongwu won't play on Monday against the Lakers with left Achilles soreness.

Feb 01   5:57 PM

Okongwu's place in the rotation was limited with John Collins and Clint Capela back in the fold, so his absence won't change much. His biggest impact is years to come.

Norman Powell (right quad contusion) is doubtful for Tuesday vs. the Magic.

Feb 01   4:11 PM

Coach Nick Nurse was originally hopeful to have him back over the weekend but now it looks like he'll miss his third straight. Yuta Watanabe has picked up some steam off the bench and is trending up in very deep leagues, and Terence Davis will try to build some momentum after scoring 12 points with four rebounds, two triples and one steal on Sunday.

Juancho Hernangomez (COVID-protocol) will be available to play on Monday vs. the Cavs.

Feb 01   3:51 PM

While Hernangomez will be available, Ryan Saunders said he'll only be used in an "emergency situation," so it sounds like he's headed for a DNP-CD tonight. He's cleared quarantine, but he still needs to get his conditioning back up.

Nerlens Noel (sore left groin) is questionable vs. the Bulls on Monday.

Feb 01   2:00 PM

This is a non-update for the second game of this back-to-back, as the Knicks did not practice Monday morning.  Taj Gibson played 18 minutes in Noel's absence on Sunday but you wouldn't be able to tell by looking at the stat sheet.

Naz Reid (wrist) is questionable for Monday vs. the Cavaliers.

Feb 01   2:00 PM

This is a non-update on the second night of a back-to-back with no morning shootaround. Naz will likely test the wrist in pre-game warmups before a decision is made on his status. His window for fantasy value will close quickly when Karl-Anthony Towns finally gets clearance.

Juancho Hernangomez (protocols) is questionable for Monday vs. the Cavaliers.

Feb 01   2:00 PM

With Juancho on the verge of getting clearance, fantasy managers are watching closely in the hope that Jarred Vanderbilt stays heavily involved in the rotation. Juancho has been brutal and is not a fantasy pickup.

Onyeka Okongwu (Achilles soreness) has been downgraded to questionable vs. the Lakers on Monday.

Feb 01   1:26 PM

If he's cleared he's looking at a best-case scenario of minutes in the low teens, so there's very little fantasy impact here.

Raul Neto (left groin strain) will miss at least the next two games.

Feb 01   1:26 PM

This rules him out through February 3rd at the minimum. Ish Smith had 13 points, seven assists, two rebounds, one 3-pointer, two steals and one block in 24 minutes of his last outing and gets a small boost with Neto out.

Justise Winslow (left hip displacement recovery) said he's eyeing a return in late February.

Feb 01   1:08 PM

He was hoping to return sooner but the 11 day health and safety hiatus set his conditioning back. It's been more than a year since his last game and he doesn't have a category-friendly skillset, so most fantasy managers will want to take a wait-and-see approach here.

Damian Lillard likes what he's seen from Anfernee Simons in recent games.

Feb 01   12:28 PM

“He has something to prove,” Lillard said. “And I think he recognizes the opportunity, and he is going out there telling himself ‘I have to take advantage of this so when we do become a healthy team, I can still be in the rotation and show that I can help the team.’ It’s that simple.” Coach Terry Stotts has been saying all the right things about the young guard too, even drawing up a potential game-tying 3-pointer in the Houston game that sailed wide. He's worth a look as a streamer, averaging 16.0 points, 4.0 triples, 4.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists over his last four games.

Nets coach Steve Nash said Jeff Green has been "outstanding" this season.

Feb 01   11:05 AM

“He’s been great on the court, his versatility, his experience and his skill has been really important to us," Nash said. "[But] his maturity, his personality, his leadership, he’s really added a ton to our team in that respect.” With the Nets playing at a blistering pace and load managing their Big 3 from time to time, Green has been a very sneaky fantasy value. In fact, he ranks inside the top-50 in 9-cat over the last two weeks with 13.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.1 steals, 0.4 blocks and 2.3 triples.

Jonathan Isaac (left ACL tear) indicated that he's making good progress with his rehab.

Feb 01   11:05 AM

He's sixth months removed from his injury and has started to ramp up his on-court work. Isaac said he is "jumping a little on shots while utilizing more movement through ball-handling and the stiffness in his knee has improved," according to Roy Parry of the Orlando Sentinel. He hasn't started running just yet, as he's looking to strengthen his quad, calf and hamstring muscles first. Isaac is not expected to return this season but should be good to go for the 2021-22 campaign.

Moe Wagner scored 17 points on 7-of-8 shooting (3-of-5 FT) Sunday, to go with five rebounds, two assists and two steals over 21 turnover-less minutes in a win vs. Brooklyn.

Feb 01   1:49 AM

In just his second game back from what was nearly a three-week quarantine period, Wagner logged more minutes than starting center, Robin Lopez (18), and he severely outplayed RoLo with Wagner ending his evening with a plus-11 rating compared to Lopez' minus-13. Lopez finished with 10 points, four rebounds, one steal and one turnover in the win, and with Lopez and Alex Len (four minutes) being Wagner's only competition for the five-man minutes, it's not unreasonable to think Wagner could find himself in the starting unit sooner rather than later. He's someone to consider stashing in deep leagues.

Davis Bertans hit 4-of-13 shots on Sunday for 11 points, three rebounds, three 3-pointers and nothing else over 30 minutes in a win over the Nets.

Feb 01   12:22 AM

Bertans went 0-of-6 from distance in his return to action on Friday, and he started today’s game by bricking his first four 3-balls, but he finally got his first one to drop on a desperation heave at the end of the first quarter. After drilling an incredible 42.4% of his 3-point attempts in a contract year with the Wizards last season, Bertans has been connecting on a pedestrian 32.7% of his 3-point attempts this season to go with averages of 10.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.6 treys and not much else on 34.4% shooting.
