Players News

Grayson Allen (health and safety protocols) has been ruled out on Monday vs the Spurs.

Jan 31   7:17 PM

Allen will miss his second straight game due to league protocols. Dillon Brooks is a solid play in deep leagues and is coming off a 14-point game with three boards, four assists, one steal and three triples.

Derrick Jones Jr. (left foot sprain) will miss Monday's contest vs the Bucks.

Jan 31   7:17 PM

Jones Jr. will miss his second straight game as he recovers from a foot sprain that he suffered last week. Gary Trent Jr. is the best pickup option with all the injuries the Blazers are battling right now.

Bruce Brown will make another fill-in start for the Nets on Sunday, alongside Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, Joe Harris and DeAndre Jordan.

Jan 31   7:17 PM

Brown started Friday's game with Durant resting and he dropped in 19 points. He'll shift over to the spot left vacant by James Harden (bruised thigh), and is worth a look for end-of-week streaming value.

Anthony Davis (right quad) is questionable for Monday's game vs. the Hawks.

Jan 31   7:17 PM

Davis has picked up a ton of minor injuries throughout his career, as fantasy managers know too well. The Lakers are leaning into it by listing him with an injury prior to nearly every single game this season. His list of official ailments this season has involved his right adductor, lower back, right ankle, right calf and now his right quad. Basically his entire lower-right quadron. Confirm his status before deploying him in DFS leagues. LeBron James (left ankle) is also on the official injury report, but that's apparently just for show since he hasn't left it all season.

Joe Ingles moved back to Utah's second unit on Sunday, finishing a loss in Denver with 10 points, six assists and one rebound in 25 minutes.

Jan 31   7:17 PM

He sank 3-of-7 field goals including a pair of 3-pointers, and was 2-of-2 at the line. Paired with the six dimes, that's about as good as it gets for Ingles in his usual bench role. He's averaging 10.9 points and shooting a career-best 51.7%, to his credit, but just isn't getting enough run (24.9 minutes) to make a big impact in fantasy leagues.

Derrick Favors (lower back soreness) came off Utah's bench for seven points (2-of-3 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), six rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks in 19 minutes.

Jan 31   7:17 PM

Favors has been a staple of the injury report due to this back ailment, but it got bad enough recently that he missed Utah's wins on Wednesday and Friday. He's settled into a comfortable niche behind Rudy Gobert, but doesn't have standard-league fantasy appeal while Gobert is healthy. The two centers have shared the court for a mere 12 minutes all season.

Facundo Campazzo picked up 11 points, five assists and two rebounds in 21 minutes on Sunday, making 3-of-5 field goals and 3-of-4 free throws with a pair of 3-pointers.

Jan 31   7:17 PM

Gary Harris exited after nine minutes due to a left adductor strain, opening up extra playing time for Campazzo. The severity of Harris' injury is unclear, but it's worth mentioning that he has had two extended absences in the past due to a strained adductor, albeit on his right side both times. Even if Harris misses more time, we'd like to see Campazzo repeat this performance a few times before trusting him as a streamer.

Michael Porter Jr. struggled with foul trouble vs. the Jazz on Sunday, scoring 11 points with four rebounds and one turnover in 21 minutes.

Jan 31   7:17 PM

That's two straight games with limited run for MPJ, who played 19 minutes on Friday vs. the Spurs. On Friday it was merely the caprice of coach Mike Malone that limited Porter in the rotation, so at least there was a legitimate cause tonight -- he couldn't get out of his own way with the fouls. Gary Harris went down today with a strained left adductor which could cost him some time, so we're expecting a big spike in minutes vs. the Pistons on Monday. At least Porter will be well-rested, right?

Jamal Murray shot 7-of-16 for 16 points in a win vs. the Jazz on Sunday, going 2-of-6 from deep with five assists, four rebounds and one steal.

Jan 31   7:17 PM

A sprained left shoulder had Murray on the official injury report for this matinee, but he's also playing through a bruised elbow and a bruised glute. He said the glute injury makes it hurt to "lift [his] leg and run," and he may have been a bit more passive offensively, failing to attempt a free throw for the second straight game.  Nothing suggests he'll be limited in the second half of this back-to-back set vs. the Pistons on Monday, but it can't hurt to double-check his status after shootaround.

Will Barton scored 18 points and handed out six assists in an impressive 128-117 win vs. the Jazz on Sunday, making 6-of-11 field goals with a 5-of-6 mark from deep.

Jan 31   7:17 PM

Barton continues to start ahead of Michael Porter Jr. (20 minutes), and his role should get a boost if Gary Harris misses time after straining his left adductor on Sunday. Playing time hasn't been the biggest issue for Barton, though, as he's shooting just 41.1% with modest per-36-minute averages of 13.7 points, 5.1 boards, 3.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.7 blocks. His usage rate has also fallen to a career-low 18.3%, and it's adding up to low-end value in all fantasy formats.

Paul George had an off-game vs the Knicks on Sunday, finishing with 17 points, eight boards, five assists, a steal and a block.

Jan 31   4:52 PM

George struggled to hit threes vs the Knicks, going 1-of-8 on such attempts and 7-of-16 overall. It was the first time since Dec. 27 that he didn't make multiple 3-pointers, so this game was probably just a one-off. Besides, he salvaged his fantasy outing by contributing in all other aspects of the game. Nothing to worry about here.

Julius Randle posted another double-double on Sunday vs the Clippers, finishing with 27 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists in 35 minutes.

Jan 31   4:52 PM

Randle knocked down 9-of-18 field goals, 4-of-5 3-pointers and 5-of-6 free throws but the Knicks couldn't knock off the red-hot Clippers. But thankfully for fantasy managers, wins don't mean much because he's putting up monster numbers every night and that's all that matters.

Goran Dragic (left groin strain) is considered questionable on Monday vs the Hornets.

Jan 31   4:52 PM

Dragic has already missed three games and fellow guards Avery Bradley (knee) and Tyler Herro (health and safety) are also questionable, meaning if any of them are ruled out, Kendrick Nunn should be back in the rotation.

Tyler Herro (health and safety) is questionable to play on Monday vs the Hornets.

Jan 31   4:52 PM

This was expected after Herro said last night that someone he lives with tested positive for COVID-19. He will likely undergo testing today and tomorrow but if the NBA is stern on its protocols, he's technically supposed to quarantine for a minimum of seven days for coming in contact with someone who's positive for coronavirus. We'll have more as details unfold, but if Herro is out, Kendrick Nunn is a solid streamer as Goran Dragic (groin) and Avery Bradley (knee) are questionable. Gabe Vincent is probably Monday.

Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers to a 129-115 win over the Knicks on Sunday, finishing with 28 points on 8-of-15 shooting and a perfect 11-of-11 from the line.

Jan 31   4:15 PM

The Klaw was efficient in shooting the ball from the floor and from the charity stripe. He also added four rebounds, three assists, one steal and a block to round out his performance and is currently the third-best player in 9-cat leagues this season.

Otto Porter Jr. is considered questionable vs the Knicks on Monday after experiencing back tightness on Saturday night when the Bulls played the

Jan 31   4:15 PM

OPJ didn't do much on Sunday's practice, according to Cody Westerlund of 670 The Score. And the veteran wing has been dealing with back pain over the past week or so, so it wouldn't surprise us if he's held out of tomorrow's game. Check back soon for more updates.

Reggie Jackson had another solid outing on Sunday, recording 18 points, three rebounds and five assists in the win.

Jan 31   4:14 PM

Ty Lue already said that it was going to be hard to keep Jackson off the court, and the veteran point guard is making it even harder. He made 6-of-12 field goals with three triples and no turnovers in 26 minutes. He's scored in double figures in five straight games and played well alongside Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Even when Patrick Beverley (knee) returns, Jackson should be rostered.

David Nwaba (left ankle) didn't practice on Sunday and is considered doubtful vs the OKC Thunder on Monday night.

Jan 31   3:40 PM

Nwaba is likely to miss tomorrow's game after injuring his left ankle in the final frame last night. Eric Gordon should play some extra minutes even if he doesn't start, and he's available in 45% of Yahoo leagues.

Patrick Patterson started his first game of the season on Sunday, finishing with 13 points, three rebounds and a block in 20 minutes.

Jan 31   3:40 PM

"Tonight, by chance, my name just happened to be called," Patterson said. "I just wanted to make sure I was focused." He was focused and he was also accurate, hitting all five of his field goals including three 3-pointers in a spot start for Nicolas Batum (groin) who missed his first game of the season. If Batum misses another game, Patterson is a decent source for some points and triples in deep leagues if you're running short on players.

The Spurs have assigned Tre Jones to the team's G-League affiliate.

Jan 31   3:01 PM

Jones, who was selected by the Spurs with the 41st overall pick in the draft, hasn't played a whole lot this season. He should play plenty for the Spurs' G-League affiliate in the Orlando bubble, however.
