Cam Reddish played through a right quad contusion on Friday vs. the Wizards and hit 2-of-7 shots and 2-of-4 free throws for seven points, three rebounds, one steal, one block and one triple in 32 minutes.
He’s been battling a variety of ailments and maybe that’s why he’s struggled to get into a rhythm. Coach Lloyd Pierce was asked about how he can bottle Cam’s 24-point game vs. Brooklyn and this is what he had to say: "In a nutshell, piss him off, and tell him to slow down." Pierce added that Cam is at his best when there’s a challenge he has to lock into, and he seems to know which buttons to press -- Pierce has been Cam's biggest supporter since entering the league. He's a hold despite the ups and downs, especially with De'Andre Hunter (knee) hurting.
Derrick Favors (back) will not play on Friday vs. the Mavericks.
Favors only plays around 15 minutes per night so there isn't much of an impact here. The Jazz went with some smaller lineups last game with Favors out instead of playing rookie Udoka Azubuike.
Rajon Rondo (ankle) returned from a one-game absence on Friday vs. the Wizards and finished with eight points, four assists, two rebounds, one steal and two triples in 15 minutes before a late ejection.
This was one of his better games, but the bar was set pretty low with Rondo averaging 3.6 points, 3.9 dimes, 2.3 rebounds and 0.4 steals in 14.8 minutes. The Hawks are missing some players which means Rondo may get a slight bump, but not enough to move the needle in most fantasy leagues.
Robin Lopez was ejected from Friday's game vs. Atlanta with double technicals.
He was saying some choice words to the officials as his team was getting run out of the building for what is looking like their 14th loss of the season. Lopez has been mentioned in some trade rumors and as a possible buyout candidate, but for now he's been a serviceable streamer in deeper leagues and that will be the case as long as he starts.
Bruce Brown will start Friday's game in place of Kevin Durant (rest)
Kyrie Irving, James Harden, Joe Harris and DeAndre Jordan round out the starting unit tonight. This is simply a day off for KD due to injury management, so Brown isn't a great pickup in most scenarios.
Naz Reid (sprained right wrist) will not play vs. the Sixers on Friday.
Reid was a true game-time decision but he didn't have full range of motion, so he'll miss at least one game with a chance to return Sunday vs. Cleveland. Ed Davis gets the start in his absence on Friday, though it's an unenviable job with Joel Embiid waiting for him.
Alec Burks (left ankle) will start vs. the Cavs on Friday.
Reggie Bullock is out due to a sore neck, which opens up a handful of extra playing time and results in another start for Burks. He's hitting top-100 value this season in most formats, buoyed by strong offensive numbers, so feel free to roll him out there.
Terence Davis will make his first start of the season on Friday vs the Kings with OG Anunoby (calf) and Norman Powell (quad) sidelined.
Davis is not only going to start but will also see heavy minutes with the Raptors missing two of its key wings. In his best game of the season, Davis accumulated 16 points, four rebounds, an assist, three steals, a block and four 3-pointers. He's a solid streaming option in deep leagues and a low-cost DFS play.
Joel Embiid (back tightness) is expected to play vs. the Wolves on Friday.
Embiid went through shootaround and will play as long as his back doesn't flare up during pre-game warmups. Assuming he does play, he'll be set up nicely vs. the Wolves' short-handed frontcourt.
Scott Brooks is hopeful that Deni Avdija, Troy Brown Jr. and Ish Smith will be able to play on Sunday vs the Nets.
"There’s a great chance [they play Sunday]," Brooks said. "I saw them all work out yesterday, they all look great." This a really good sign for the Wizards which had a handful of games postponed this season and are now finally starting to get healthy. Keep an eye on Avdija once he returns as he's shown some promise early in his rookie season.
Michael Carter-Williams (sprained left foot) had a setback on Thursday and remains out for Friday's game.
MCW exited Thursday's practice early but it's unclear how serious this setback was. For now, we'll consider him out indefinitely until we've seen him back on the practice court.
Naz Reid (sprained right wrist) is questionable vs. the Sixers on Friday.
Reid got hurt while blocking Kelly Oubre's shot on Wednesday, but even if he sits out Friday it sounds like he avoided any long-term damage. He's headed for a game-time decision, and if he sits out Ed Davis could be extremely busy.
Robert Covington (concussion) has been upgraded to questionable for Saturday's game vs the Bulls.
RoCo missed the first of the Blazers' six-game road trip but could be back in the lineup tomorrow. He's currently going to NBA concussion protocol and did travel with the team. Check back Saturday for another update.
Derrick Jones Jr. (left foot sprain) will not play vs. the Bulls on Saturday.
The severity of the sprain is unclear but it's no surprise to see DJJ miss time after getting hurt vs. the Rockets on Thursday. Without C.J. McCollum (foot), the door is wide open for Rodney Hood and Gary Trent Jr. to make some noise in the rotation. We'll consider DJJ day-to-day until the Blazers provide an update, but deep-league managers should brace themselves for an extended absence.
Cam Reddish (right quad contusion) has been cleared to play on Friday vs the Wizards.
Cam was upgraded to probable in the morning and he's now good to go in what could be a high-scoring game vs the Wizards. He dropped a season-high 24 points last game and is sitting on 54% of Yahoo waivers if you're in need of points, threes and steals.
Rajon Rondo (ankle) has been cleared to play vs the Wizards on Friday.
He will play tonight after sitting out of Wednesday's game but the veteran point hasn't done much this season so it's safe to leave him on waivers for now.
Grayson Allen won't play vs. the Spurs on Saturday due to health and safety protocols.
Hopefully it's contact tracing and won't keep him out too long. His absence means more minutes for Dillon Brooks and De'Anthony Melton.
Jerome Robinson will make his third start of the season on Friday vs the Hawks.
In two starts, Robinson is averaging 14 points, 4.5 rebounds, three assists and 2.5 triples. Russell Westbrook is playing but it's safe to stream JR in deep leagues based on his recent play.
Alec Burks (left ankle) will play vs. the Cavs on Friday.
Reggie Bullock is out due to a sore neck, which opens up a handful of extra playing time and should result in another start for Burks. He's hitting top-100 value this season in most formats, buoyed by strong offensive numbers, so feel free to roll him out there.
Reggie Bullock (sore neck) will not play vs. the Cavs on Friday.
That's three straight games on the sidelines for Bullock, who was at least questionable until a few hours before tip-off. His absence is a boost for Austin Rivers and Alec Burks, the latter of whom should get another start vs. Cleveland. Bullock's next chance to play comes Sunday vs. the Clippers.
