Larry Nance Jr. is questionable to play on Friday against the Knicks on Friday with a wrist injury.
Nance Jr. has missed two full games with the injury and could miss a third. Taurean Prince's numbers have gained the most since his absence, averaging 11.5 points (2.0 3-point makes), 6.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.0 blocks, and 0.5 steals over both games. Prince might be worth playing if Nance Jr. misses another night.
Kevin Love (right calf strain) will remain on the sidelines for Friday's game against the Knicks.
Love initially went down with the calf strain on Dec. 28 and then it was reported that he'd be re-evaluated in 3-4 weeks. We're now past the four-week mark, but we've received zero updates from Cleveland, which would imply that he's still not close. The 32-year-old, oft-injured forward has only appeared in two games for Cleveland this season, and while he didn't look great, we'd still recommend stashing him in an IR-spot. Hopefully, Cleveland will provide some sort of update within the next week or so.
Reggie Bullock (neck) is questionable to play on Friday against the Cavaliers.
Bullock's missed the last two games with the injury and Alec Burks (ankle; probable) has taken his place in the starting lineup. Burks has been shooting poorly from the field but could have another opportunity to produce on Friday if Bullock sits. Up-and-down rookie Immanuel Quickley could play extended minutes, too.
Michael Carter-Williams (foot) won't play on Friday against the Clippers.
Carter-Williams took himself out of Wednesday's practice, so this isn't a huge surprise. This shouldn't change much for fantasy managers.
Tom Thibodeau credited RJ Barrett's improvement, saying he's "in a good rhythm."
Barrett's had a hot stretch over his last eight games, averaging 19.4 points on 51.4% shooting from the field and 48.0% from 3-point range, 5.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2.0 turnovers per game in 34.3 minutes. That's high efficiency shooting from a player often criticized for his lack of consistency. "He's been playing very well overall," Thibodeau said. "His floor game has been excellent all year long and now the shooting is coming around. He's in a good rhythm. He's taking good shots. He's scoring a lot of different ways."
Rajon Rondo is questionable to play on Friday against the Wizards due to a sprained ankle.
Rondo missed Wednesday's game with the sprain and played just six minutes in the game before. In his absence, Brandon Goodwin put up an empty stat line of just three assists and a turnover in nine minutes. If Rondo sits again, Atlanta is likely to lean on Trae Young for heavy minutes, with help from Kevin Huerter and Cam Reddish.
Clint Capela (hand) is probable for Friday's game vs. the Wizards.
He played through the hand issue on Wednesday and looked fine, so fantasy managers can plan on having him in an active roster spot tomorrow night. Check back for official confirmation on his status closer to Friday's tip.
Onyeka Okongwu is probable to play on Friday against the Wizards.
With John Collins and Clint Capela both back, Okongwu isn't going to see much time on the floor. He was a DNP-CD on Wednesday, and the rookie won't be much of a help in fantasy leagues unless one of those two sit.
Former Sixers wing Dakota Mathias will play in AmericaCup in February.
Mathias played a small role with the Sixers before being waived, and now he'll get to showcase his talents again for Team USA on February 19th and 20th. Mathias's teammates will include Isaiah Thomas, who is hopeful for an NBA return, and Joe Johnson.
Michael Carter-Williams (foot) is doubtful to play on Friday against the Clippers.
Steve Clifford seemed optimistic Carter-Williams could return for the first time since January 4th, but that's looking unlikely now. MCW took himself out of Wednesday's non-contact practice. This news shouldn't matter much to fantasy managers, as Carter-Williams doesn't bring much upside.
Cameron Payne (right foot sprain) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Warriors.
Payne has struggled with ankle and foot issues recently, and he will miss a second straight game due to the foot sprain. Jevon Carter remains the backup point guard, but there isn't much to be had here when it comes to fantasy value.
Damian Jones won't play on Thursday against the Warriors due to medical protocol.
This marks seven days since Jones has started the protocol. It's unclear when he'll return, but it won't matter much for fantasy managers since he's not in the rotation.
Chris Silva (left hip flexor) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Clippers.
Silva isn't a factor when it comes to fantasy basketball, so his absence won't have an impact.
Max Strus (left wrist contusion) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Clippers.
Strus played 16 minutes in Wednesday's loss to the Nuggets, scoring five points to go along with one rebound, one assist and one 3-pointer. There's no reason to roster him, regardless of league format.
Christian Wood (right ankle sprain) is officially listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Blazers.
Wood said Wednesday afternoon that he will be on the court for Thursday's game, which would be his first game action in just over a week. But he is officially listed as questionable, meaning that a concrete answer from the Rockets medical staff may not come until shortly before tip-off. If Wood can play, DeMarcus Cousins would return to the second unit and that would hurt him when it comes to fantasy value.
Gary Harris finished Wednesday's win over the Heat with seven points (3-of-7 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs), two rebounds and seven assists in 35 minutes.
Harris may not have provided much in the way of scoring Wednesday night, but he did lead the Nuggets in assists for the first time this season. And it's worth noting that coach Michael Malone remains confident in his starting shooting guard, who got off to a slow start this season, encouraging him to be aggressive on the offensive end of the floor. "Coach, he was the first one to give me a chance to play," Harris said after Wednesday's win. "He stuck with me. It's always love and respect." Rostered in 13% of Yahoo leagues, Harris is providing 10th-round value in 9-cat over the last week. That isn't great, but he won't lack for opportunities to turn things around given his importance to the Nuggets as a defender.
Patrick McCaw (left knee) was able to take part in the non-contact portion of Raptors practice on Thursday.
McCaw has yet to appear in a game this season after undergoing surgery to remove a mass from his left knee in August. There's no reason to stash him in an IL spot, due to both there still being no concrete date for a return and Toronto's surplus of contributors on the wing.
Kris Dunn (right ankle) has been participating in impact-based rehabilitation and will be re-evaluated in two weeks, the Hawks announced Thursday.
Dunn underwent surgery to have loose cartilage removed from his right ankle on December 30, and no timeline for a return was provided. He's making strides in his recovery, as some of the activities that Dunn has been cleared to do include skipping, jumping and spot shooting on the court. Dunn should still be considered out indefinitely, at least until the Hawks provide another update on his rehab process.
Moe Harkless (left thigh contusion) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Clippers.
Harkless will miss a third straight game, which likely means another start for KZ Okpala. There's no reason to pick up Okpala at this point, even with him receiving starter's minutes.
Meyers Leonard (left shoulder strain) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Clippers.
Leonard suffered the injury on January 9, and hasn't played in a game since. He didn't offer much in the way of fantasy value when healthy, so Leonard's absence has little impact in that regard. What could change is how much the Heat use Precious Achiuwa alongside Bam Adebayo, as they shared the court for six minutes in Wednesday's loss to the Nuggets.
