Kendrick Nunn shot 4-of-9 from three in Saturday’s loss to the Nets, finishing with 18 points (7-of-14 FGs), five rebounds, three assists and one steal in 32 minutes.
Nunn had himself another good game off the bench, as he’s scored 18 or more in four straight. With Jimmy Butler (health and safety protocols) and Tyler Herro (neck) both sidelined, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to grab Nunn as a short-term option. Over the last week he’s been a top-20 player in both 8- and 9-cat formats, but is rostered in just 43% of Yahoo leagues.
Brandon Ingram notched his third 30-point game of the season on Saturday, tacking on four rebounds, two assists and a block in the loss.
BI hit 11-of-20 field goals, two 3-pointers and all six of his freebies but the Pelicans came up short to the Wolves. Still, Ingram has played well this season, averaging nearly 23/6/5 and providing top-50 value, although his ADP was 37.3 in Yahoo this year.
Andrew Wiggins shot 5-of-9 from the field and 1-of-2 from the foul line in Saturday’s loss to the Jazz, finishing with 13 points, five rebounds, two assists, three blocks and two 3-pointers in 25 minutes.
Wiggins has been a top-100 player in both 8- and 9-cat formats this season, with his production as a shot-blocker being one reason why. With three blocks Saturday night, he’s had two or more in six games this season. It’s worth noting that Wiggins was in the midst of a dry spell of sorts, as he tallied a total of two rejections in the four games prior. What the Warriors and fantasy managers need now is for Wiggins to get better at the foul line, as he entered Saturday shooting just 54.5% from the charity stripe over the last week.
Bojan Bogdanovic played 26 minutes in Saturday’s win over the Warriors, finishing with 14 points (3-of-13 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), seven rebounds, eight assists and three 3-pointers.
Bogdanovic didn’t have his best night shooting the basketball, but he made up for it in other areas. In addition to the season-high eight assists, he matched his season-best with seven rebounds. Bogdanovic ranks well outside of the top-200 in 9-cat for the season, well below his Yahoo ADP (127), but things may be turning around. He has now hit double figures in five straight games, his longest such streak of the season.
Eric Bledsoe recorded a season-high 28 points on Saturday vs the Wolves, hitting 11-of-23 field goals, three triples and 3-of-6 free throws.
It was nice to see Bledsoe have a big game as he's been up and down this season and had been struggling to make jumpers for some time. He did most of his damage in the first half, scoring 19 points, which was more than his total output from the two previous games combined. He also added five boards, three assists and a steal in 34 minutes to round out his night. If you were thinking about trading Bledsoe, now would be a good time to do so while his stock is high. He might not score over 25 points again as his previous season high was 21.
John Wall (knee) played 21 minutes in Saturday’s win over the Mavericks, finishing with seven points ( 3-of-9 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), one rebound and eight assists.
Originally ruled out for the rest of the week, Wall was able to make his return to the lineup Saturday night. His minutes were capped, and with the Rockets extending their lead early in the fourth quarter Stephen Silas was able to get his starting point guard extra rest. Wall didn’t shoot the ball well, but he tallied eight assists with just one turnover. This isn’t “prime” Wall, but he’s still providing fourth-round value in 8-cat and sixth-round value in 9-cat. Hopefully his production improves as he shakes off the rust that accumulated during his nine-game absence.
Jarred Vanderbilt tallied season-highs with 16 points and 11 rebounds on Saturday in the Wolves 120-110 win over the Pelicans.
Vanderbilt got another start on Saturday and he made the most of it, recording his second double-double this season and did so in just 21 minutes. He shot 8-of-13 from the floor and has now had back-to-back outings with at least 10 points, two steals and a block. JV is currently rostered in just six percent of Yahoo leagues and is worth a pick-up in deep leagues for those whose teams are battling injuries and COVID concerns.
David Nwaba played 27 minutes off the bench in Saturday’s win over the Mavericks, accounting for 18 points (6-of-7 FGs, 4-of-5 FTs), two rebounds, three assists, one steal and two 3-pointers.
With Victory Oladipo (rest) being given the night off, there were a few more minutes available to Nwaba. And he took advantage, establishing a new season-high in points while also dishing out three assists. Over the last week Nwaba, who’s rostered in just 2% of Yahoo leagues, has provided top-30 value in 9-cat formats. Nwaba is worth a look right now, especially in deeper leagues, as he’s playing the best basketball of his career to date.
Mason Jones shot 6-of-8 from the field and 1-of-2 from the foul line in Saturday’s win over the Mavericks, accounting for 16 points, five rebounds, three assists and three 3-pointers in 19 minutes.
Jones had one of his better games this season against the Mavericks, with the 16 points being the most that he’s scored since January 16 vs. San Antonio (career-high 24). No Victor Oladipo (rest) freed up a few minutes for the rookie, who played just three Friday night. Jones isn’t worth rostering right now, regardless of league format, but he deserves credit for his showing Saturday night.
Jalen Smith finished Saturday’s double-overtime loss to the Nuggets with five points (2-of-3 FGs), two rebounds, one blocked shot and one 3-pointer in nine minutes.
Due to an ankle sprain and a case of COVID-19, Smith had been absent from the Suns rotation since the second game of the season. The rookie has a lot of work to do before he receives consistent rotation minutes, so he can be left on the waiver wire for the time being.
Saddiq Bey had a decent showing on Saturday, scoring 10 points, three rebounds and a steal in 19 minutes.
Bey started with Blake Griffin (rest) out and hit 4-of-9 field goals and two triples in the loss to the Sixers. It was his fourth time joining the starting unit this season but he didn’t do much with the opportunity as three players came off the bench to score more than him. Svi Mykhailiuk led that group with 15 points in 18 minutes.
Jerami Grant had his worst shooting performance of the season vs Philly on Saturday, going 3-of-19 from the floor with 11 points in 35 minutes.
Grant recorded his second-lowest scoring mark of the season tonight, and if it wasn't for a late 3-pointer, it would've been a season-low. He struggled against Ben Simmons and Tobias Harris on the perimeter while Joel Embiid made things tough for him in the paint. Grant also shot 2-of-9 from distance but salvaged his fantasy night with nine boards, three assists, two steals and a block. He's 7-of-34 on field goals in the last two games and will look to shake off the rust against this same Philly team on Monday night.
Wayne Ellington shot 6-of-9 from the floor and made four triples, finishing with a team-high 17 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals on Saturday.
Ellington was on pace to drop a 30-piece after scoring 15 points in the first half. But it was another great game for the veteran shooter who's now recorded at least 16 points in four straight games with 21 made 3-pointers in that stretch. He's a must-have player in 9- and 8-cat and also in deep points leagues.
Willie Cauley-Stein will start on Saturday night vs the Rockets with Kristaps Porzingis (knee) out.
Porzingis and Maxi Kleber (health) are both out for the Mavs so WCS could be in for big minutes and a big night. He's a decent streaming option as a source for high-percentage field goals, some rebounds and defensive stats.
Jared Dudley (calf) is a "game or two away" from returning, according to Lakers coach Frank Vogel.
Dudley wasn't a rotation player when healthy, so this update doesn't change anything when it comes to his fantasy prospects. The good news is that we now have a clearer timetable with regard to when he could be cleared to play.
Devin Booker could be day-to-day, or out for a full week with a hamstring strain, according to Monty Williams.
Booker's hamstring will be a wait-and-see situation, but it's a bit more worrisome that he could miss more than just Saturday. We'll see how the Suns respond to his absence, and evaluate from there. This could be a big opportunity for Cam Johnson and Jevon Carter.
Frank Ntilikina (right knee sprain) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Blazers.
This may be as close to playing as Ntilikina has been since he injured his knee. However, with the Knicks' point guard pecking order seemingly settled, he will be hard-pressed to earn rotation minutes. He can be left on the waiver wire, as Elfrid Payton and Immanuel Quickley are Tom Thibodeau's preferred options.
Austin Rivers (right Achilles soreness) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Blazers.
Rivers missed each of the Knicks' first two games on this west coast trip. He should slot back into the rotation if cleared to play Sunday night, especially if starter Reggie Bullock (neck) is ruled out. Bullock is listed as doubtful. If Bullock can play, Rivers' fantasy value takes a hit as Alec Burks returned to the rotation earlier this week.
Omari Spellman will play with the Erie BayHawks in the G-League bubble in Orlando.
Spellman began the season with the Knicks, but was waived as the team needed to open up a roster spot for Taj Gibson. Playing with the BayHawks is a big opportunity for the former first-round pick, who failed to stick with either the Hawks, Warriors or Knicks.
Trent Forrest (health and safety protocols) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Warriors.
Forrest isn't a rotation player when healthy, so his absence won't have an impact when it comes to fantasy hoops.
