Mike Scott (right knee) will not suit up for Wednesday's game vs. the Celtics.

Jan 19   6:09 PM

It'll be his second game on the sidelines, but it won't matter because Joel Embiid will be back.

Juancho Hernangomez and Ricky Rubio will remain inactive for Wednesday's game vs. the Magic due to health and safety protocols.

Jan 19   5:50 PM

Hernangomez and Rubio were placed in quarantine last Friday, so don't expect to see them again until Week 6. Jarred Vanderbilt has been playing great as Minnesota's starting power forward, so Hernangomez might not have much of a role once he is cleared, so he's safe to send to the wire in most leagues while Vanderbilt is worth a look.

Robert Williams (COVID-protocol) will be available to play on Wednesday vs. the 76ers.

Jan 19   5:30 PM

He got through a full practice on Tuesday and it looks like he'll be returning from a two-week absence tomorrow night. With the Time Lord back in action, there will be fewer minutes available for Daniel Theis and Grant Williams.

De'Andre Hunter (sore right knee) is probable to play on Wednesday vs. the Pistons.

Jan 19   5:30 PM

Hunter tweaked his right hand on a dunk on MLK Day, but we didn't see him dealing with any sort of knee issues. The fact that the hand isn't even being listed and that he's probable tells us we have nothing to worry about. Check back for official confirmation on his status closer to tomorrow's tip.

Trae Young (right heel soreness) is probable for Wednesday's game vs. Detroit.

Jan 19   5:30 PM

Young is dealing with some minor soreness in his heel, but that's clearly not going to force him to the sidelines. We should get official word on his status following tomorrow's shootaround, but we're not worried about him.

Goran Dragic (foot contusion) and Gabe Vincent (knee) are probable for Wednesday's game vs. the Raptors.

Jan 19   5:13 PM

With Dragic back, Vincent's playing status is largely irrelevant. Check back for official confirmation on these guys' statuses tomorrow afternoon.

Carsen Edwards (COVID-protocol) will again be unavailable for Wednesday's game vs. the 76ers.

Jan 19   5:13 PM

He's not a rotation player in Boston.

Avery Bradley (COVID-protocol) is not traveling with the Heat for their four-game road trip.

Jan 19   4:55 PM

He's already been ruled out for Wednesday's game and it seems unlikely that he'll clear quarantine and re-join the team during this trip. Leave him on the wire.

Meyers Leonard (shoulder) is not traveling with the team for their four-game road trip.

Jan 19   4:55 PM

It looks like Leonard is set to miss another four games, which means next to nothing in fantasy hoops.

Sterling Brown (leg) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Suns.

Jan 19   4:38 PM

He's missed the past two, but we'll have a better idea on his status following tomorrow's shootaround. He won't be a large part of the rotation as long as Victor Oladipo and Eric Gordon are healthy, though.

Monty Williams implied that Cameron Johnson will be the Suns' starting power forward moving forward.

Jan 19   4:17 PM

Williams said he liked the "spacing and pace" with Johnson in the starting unit, as opposed to Jae Crowder, and he added that he liked what he saw with Crowder in the second unit. Johnson won't wow you, but if you need a cheap source of efficient scoring and triples he could be your guy.

Evan Fournier (back spasms) is doubtful for Wednesday's game vs. the Wolves.

Jan 19   2:55 PM

Fournier did go through a non-contact practice, at least, so it doesn't sound like he's too far away from playing. His return would be welcome news for an Orlando team struggling without Markelle Fultz (knee), and he'll likely have more ball-handling duties than usual upon his return.

Michael Carter-Williams (left foot) is doubtful for Wednesday's game vs. the Wolves.

Jan 19   2:55 PM

The good news is that MCW is one step closer to playing, having gone through a non-contact practice on Tuesday. He's never been a strong per-minute fantasy option, so he's only a speculative add in deep leagues as a backup to rookie starter Cole Anthony.

Al-Farouq Aminu (right knee surgery) practiced non-contact on Tuesday but he's doubtful for Wednesday's game vs. the Wolves.

Jan 19   2:55 PM

Even non-contact work is a major milestone for Aminu as he recovers from a second knee surgery he had performed in early December. He hasn't played in over a year and has no obvious path to fantasy relevance.

Danilo Gallinari (right ankle sprain) is "moving well and moving better," but he remains without a target return date.

Jan 19   2:39 PM

That quote is from coach Lloyd Pierce, echoing his comments from the weekend. Gallo has begun contact work, so the next step should be progressing to 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 work. When he does return, expect his minutes to be limited while his conditioning improves after an extended absence.

Nuggets rookie Greg Whittington had left knee surgery on Tuesday and will be re-evaluated in 4-6 weeks.

Jan 19   2:39 PM

It was relatively minor arthroscopic surgery, so hopefully Whittington will be back to full strength within a few months. He's not in the Nuggets' rotation anyway, so they can afford to be extremely thorough with his recovery.

Kelly Oubre played more with the second unit during Monday's comeback win vs. the Lakers, and coach Steve Kerr intends to continue that approach.

Jan 19   2:39 PM

Kerr wanted to shake Oubre out of his early-season slump, as he's currently 36.6% from the field but made critical plays at both ends of the court to pull out Monday's victory. "Maybe activate him, get him more aggressive, get him more involved," Kerr said. Getting the ball in Oubre's hands more often should pay dividends for fantasy managers, so this qualifies as great news.

Myles Turner has been diagnosed with a "slight fracture" in his right hand, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Jan 19   2:20 PM

Turner will be re-evaluated "in the coming days," at which time a decision will presumably be made whether or not he'll require surgery. In the meantime, deep-league fantasy managers should try to grab Goga Bitadze as a speculative source of defensive stats. There's no replacing the league-leading shot blocker, of course, and the Pacers will likely stay small in Turner's absence with Doug McDermott, Justin Holiday and T.J. McConnell taking on outsized roles and many more minutes at center for Domantas Sabonis.

Serge Ibaka (illness) will "definitely" play vs. the Kings on Wednesday, according to coach Ty Lue.

Jan 19   1:57 PM

Ivica Zubac got the spot start in place of Ibaka on Sunday, so feel free to ditch him if you were holding on for streaming purposes. Lue also said Tuesday's practice will emphasize the Clippers' small-ball lineups, so we'll keep an eye out for any potential impact on Ibaka. More likely, though, it means more Marcus Morris instead of Zubac off the bench.

Seth Curry (COVID-19) did not practice on Tuesday.

Jan 19   1:39 PM

The good news is that Curry is "finishing up his final stage of health & safety protocols," according to the team. His status for Wednesday's game has yet to be determined, which qualifies as good news, though he'll likely need to ramp up his conditioning whenever he's cleared to take the court.
