Players News

Reggie Bullock (right hip soreness) will not play on Wednesday vs. the Nets.

Jan 13   6:33 PM

No surprise here as Bullock was listed as doubtful after sitting out on Monday. Austin Rivers has quietly been putting up some solid fantasy numbers and played a whopping 38 minutes vs. the Hornets.

Terrance Ferguson (medical protocols) is probable to play on Thursday against the Heat.

Jan 13   6:05 PM

The Sixers are expected to return nearly everyone except Vincent Poirier, Seth Curry and Furkan Korkmaz on Thursday, so don't expect to see much of Ferguson on the floor.

Ben Simmons (left knee swelling) is probable for Thursday vs. Miami.

Jan 13   6:05 PM

It's standard procedure for teams to list players as probable after recently returning from injury. Simmons should be a full go Thursday but the 76ers could look to monitor him during their back-to-back this weekend.

Matisse Thybulle (health and safety protocols) is probable for Thursday vs. Miami.

Jan 13   6:05 PM

Thybulle was mentioned as a trade target for Houston but obviously that all fell apart when they sent James Harden to Brooklyn instead of Philly. With the 76ers mostly healthy again, Thybulle is miles off the fantasy radar.

Obi Toppin (calf) is cleared to play on Wednesday vs. the Nets.

Jan 13   6:05 PM

This doesn't mean he will immediately get minutes though. Coach TomThibodeau said “if there’s an opportunity” to play Toppin, he will, but he's not going to rush it. Fantasy managers should track his progress from the waiver wire.

Gary Harris is questionable to play on Thursday against the Warriors.

Jan 13   5:47 PM

With Harris out, Bol Bol got the start on Tuesday, but he didn't do much in 16 minutes. P.J. Dozier played 27 minutes off the bench, and Monte Morris played 24 minutes. Morris had the better fantasy night of the two, scoring 14 points with two 3-pointers, two assists, one rebound and one steal. Dozier scored four points with four rebounds and three assists. Neither are must-starts if Harris sits, though Morris might be worth a try in DFS.

Meyers Leonard is doubtful to play on Thursday against the Sixers.

Jan 13   5:47 PM

The Heat are likely to be super short-handed again on Thursday, with most of their best players, including Jimmy Butler, Goran Dragic and Bam Adebayo, in quarantine. In their first game against the Sixers, all eight of Miami's active players held tough, forcing overtime. Maybe they can run it back. Kelly Olynyk, who played 45 minutes on Tuesday, and Precious Achiuwa, who played 36 minutes, will likely get massive minutes again, and are worth playing in all leagues.

Shake Milton is probable to return from medical protocol on Thursday against the Heat.

Jan 13   5:47 PM

The Sixers are likely to return Tobias Harris, Matisse Thybulle and Terrance Ferguson from protocol, meaning the Sixers will mostly be back to full form, minus Seth Curry, Vincent Poirier and Furkan Korkmaz. Expect Milton to run somewhere around his usual minutes unless Tyrese Maxey has supplanted him in the rotation.

Dante Exum (calf) has been traded to the Rockets.

Jan 13   4:53 PM

He's still sidelined for the next 1-2 months, but the Rockets got a close look at Exum a couple years ago when he showed his defensive ability against James Harden. We'll monitor his role closely when he returns to action but we're not stashing him. Whenever he gained any momentum in the past, injuries always stood in the way.

The Cavaliers have waived Thon Maker and Yogi Ferrell.

Jan 13   4:53 PM

This was to make room for Jarrett Allen and Taurean Prince. Maker only averaged 9.5 minutes for the Cavaliers and will struggle to find a rotation spot elsewhere.

Rodions Kurucs has been traded to the Rockets as part of the three-team deal centered around James Harden.

Jan 13   4:30 PM

Kurucs was out of the rotation in Brooklyn, so maybe the change of scenery will do him some good. That being said, he joins a team that doesn't lack for wings, which will make it difficult for him to crack the rotation in Houston. Kurucs should be left on the waiver wire.

Kostas Antetokounmpo (right knee tendinitis) will not play on Wednesday vs. the Thunder.

Jan 13   3:40 PM

Carry on.

Eric Gordon (left leg tightness) is questionable for Thursday vs. the Spurs.

Jan 13   3:20 PM

He was able to play on Tuesday and will almost certainly have to play vs. the Spurs as well despite not being 100 percent -- John Wall (knee soreness) is out and the Rockets are refusing to play James Harden. If Gordon does get the green light, he'll offer way more upside than usual as the Rockets will be without a primary ball-handler.

Danuel House (medical protocols) will not play on Thursday vs. the Spurs.

Jan 13   3:20 PM

He's missing a huge opportunity to produce fantasy numbers as James Harden won't play for the Rockets again. House will be worth picking up once he's cleared with the Rockets in need of some warm bodies.

Jared Dudley (calf) will not play on Wednesday vs. the Thunder.

Jan 13   3:20 PM

The Thunder stayed up all night game-planning on how to slow Dudley down and will now have to start from scratch.

Rajon Rondo is listed as questionable to play on Friday due to left knee soreness.

Jan 13   2:55 PM

The Hawks' game on Wednesday was postponed as the Suns conduct contact tracing, but prior to that news, head coach Lloyd Pierce was hopeful Rondo could return. Perhaps the additional few days rest will help. Atlanta needs him with Kris Dunn and Bogdan Bogdanovic sidelined.

Ty Jerome won't play against the Lakers on Wednesday with an ankle sprain.

Jan 13   2:34 PM

Jerome hasn't played a game this season with the injury. We'll update when he's available again.

Clint Capela is questionable to play on Friday against the Jazz with a right hand injury.

Jan 13   1:58 PM

The Hawks' game on Wednesday was postponed due to the Suns contact tracing protocol, but Capela was still listed as questionable to play due to a right hand injury. It's unclear if he'll play on Friday. If he can't give it a go, Onyeka Okongwu could see big minutes in his NBA debut.

The Hawks' game against the Suns has been postponed on Wednesday because Phoenix is contact tracing its players.

Jan 13   11:51 AM

The postponement comes two days after the Suns played against the Wizards, who have now registered multiple positive tests. This is the NBA's seventh postponement this season. The Hawks are scheduled to play against the Jazz next on Friday.

Josh Okogie is expected to play on Wednesday against the Grizzlies.

Jan 13   11:32 AM

Head coach Ryan Saunders said Okogie and Karl-Anthony Towns are expected to play as long as everything goes well in shootaround. Okogie is a stud defender for Minnesota, but isn't a strong fantasy play. He scored just six points with four rebounds and one block in 20 minutes in his return from a hamstring injury on Sunday.
