Players News

Deandre Ayton hit just 4-of-10 shots and didn't go to the line for eight points, six boards and a block in 25 minutes of Monday's 128-107 loss to the Wizards.

Jan 11   10:59 PM

This isn't what anyone was hoping for going up against Robin Lopez with Thomas Bryant's season over (torn ACL) and this probably qualifies as Ayton's worst game of the season. He also had just eight points on 4-of-10 shooting on Saturday against the Pacers, but at least had 14 boards and three assists in that one. He's in a funk right now but will look to right the ship against the Hawks on Wednesday.

Tyrese Maxey got his second straight start on Monday and had 15 points, six rebounds, four assists and two blocks in 31 minutes.

Jan 11   10:35 PM

Aside from Joel Embiid, Maxey was the only Sixers player who had a good first half. He shot 7-of-14 in the game and while he didn't make any threes, he only had two turnovers which is impressive for a rookie point guard. In the last two games, he's totaled 54 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists, two steals, two blocks and four turnovers. Maxey is proving that he can hang in the NBA and deserves more minutes on a Philly team that's among the best in the east this season.

Tyus Jones hit 5-of-9 shots and a 3-pointer for 13 points, five rebounds, seven assists, three steals and two turnovers in 32 minutes of Monday's win over the Cavaliers.

Jan 11   10:35 PM

Jones has been effective in Ja Morant's (ankle) absence and is averaging 11 points, 3.6 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.2 3-pointers over his last five. He also had a 12-assist game on January 1 and should continue to be worthy of a starting fantasy gig as long as Morant is out.

Isaiah Joe played 28 minutes in a blowout loss on Monday, recording 18 points, two rebounds, four assists, two steals and four 3-pointers.

Jan 11   10:35 PM

Joe played some big minutes for the second game in a row, though it wasn't quite the 45 minutes he played in the game prior. But this time around, he had a better showing, hitting 6-of-9 shots, 4-of-7 from distance and both of his free throws. He needs to take advantage of the guys being out of the lineup right now, and while Tobias Harris might return soon, Ben Simmons is dealing with a knee injury and there's currently no timetable for his return.

Dillon Brooks hit 6-of-15 shots and two 3-pointers for 21 points, seven rebounds, three assists, a steal and a season-high two blocks in 33 minutes of Monday's win over the Cavs.

Jan 11   10:35 PM

He hit 10-fo-19 shots and two 3-pointers for 24 points in his previous game and while his shooting percentage can be a fantasy headache at times, he's feeling it right now.

Jonas Valanciunas played on Monday and had 12 points, seven rebounds, three assists and a block on 6-of-10 shooting in Monday's win over Cleveland.

Jan 11   10:35 PM

JV was in the health protocols briefly but was cleared to play in this one on Sunday. He wasn't great, but played 30 minutes and is a serviceable starting fantasy center right now. He had a streak of double-doubles broken at eight games recently and is averaging just 10 points and 5.5 boards over his last two games. He'll get hot again soon.

Devonte Graham hit 7-of-15 shots and two 3-pointers for a season-high 19 points, two rebounds, seven assists and three steals with just one turnover in an easy win over the Knicks on Monday.

Jan 11   10:17 PM

That says a lot, as Graham scored 35 points in the seventh game of last season when he averaged 18.2 points over the course of the entire season. Graham's gotten off to a slow start as he adjusts to life with LaMelo Ball and Terry Rozier is still around to eat into some of his stat opportunities, and the numbers reflect that. But he's had at least seven assists in four straight games and has scored in double figures in four of his last five, so maybe he's starting to figure it out.

Joel Embiid played just 23 minutes in Monday's blowout loss to the Hawks, scoring 24 points and adding 11 rebounds, one assist and a block.

Jan 11   10:17 PM

Embiid scored all of his 24 points in the first half and checked out of the game at the 8:14 mark in the third quarter and never returned. He likely would've scored over 30 points if the game was close, but Philly was down 25 when he exited and there was no reason for him to stay in with four more games looming this week. The Sixers were also missing a lot of key players and aside from rookie Tyrese Maxey, no one else else had it going in the first half.

Kyle Anderson hit 2-of-5 shots for eight points, six rebounds, nine assists and a block in 31 minutes of Monday's 101-91 win over the Cavaliers.

Jan 11   10:17 PM

Slow Mo has scored just a total of 15 points over his last two games, but he's also averaging 7.5 assists over his last two and 6.0 rebounds over his last three. He's getting all the minutes he can handle right now and while the numbers could be better, he's still doing enough to help fantasy owners even when he's not scoring in bunches.

Immanuel Quickley played a career-high 29 minutes on Monday but hit just 1-of-10 shots and missed all six of his 3-point attempts for three points, four rebounds and three assists.

Jan 11   10:00 PM

He hadn't played more than 19 minutes in a game this season and the lopsided score (109-88) helped, but then again, the Knicks have basically been blown out in three straight games. Tom Thibodeau has been looking incredibly frustrated this season and it's possible he might be ready to turn to the rookie to try to energize his team. But Quickly has hit just 2-of-24 shots over his last four games, which is a huge problem. Just keep an eye on Quickley in case he starts getting these kind of minutes on a regular basis, and in case he starts making shots.

Alex Len will start on Monday night vs the Blazers as Nick Nurse looks to match the size of Blazers front court.

Jan 11   10:00 PM

The last time Len started, he played just five minutes, failed to score and was benched in the second half. We wouldn't rush to add him even in deep leagues.

Danny Green shot 0-of-9 in 29 minutes on Monday night, finishing with two points, three rebounds, three assists and two turnovers in the loss.

Jan 11   10:00 PM

The Sixers were blown out by the Hawks 112-94 on Monday and Green's horrendous shooting night certainly didn't help. He missed all seven of his three-point attempts, scoring his two points at the free throw line. DG's only scored in double figures four times this season but does provide triples and steals for the most part, it just didn't happen tonight.

Austin Rivers started for Reggie Bullock (hip) on Monday and hit 5-of-12 shots and three 3-pointers for 13 points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal in 38 minutes of a 109-88 loss to the Hornets.

Jan 11   9:37 PM

Rivers has scored 15, 8, 23 12, 6 and 13 points in each of his last six games and he hasn't shot it well over his last three (12-of-30). But Tom Thibodeau seems to like him and Rivers has gotten over 30 minutes in four of his last five games. He's worth a look in all fantasy leagues as long as he's getting 30 minutes a night for the Knicks, but it could be an inconsistent ride.

Mitchell Robinson hit all five of his shots to finish with 12 points, 11 rebounds, two steals and two blocks in 33 minutes of a blowout loss to the Hornets.

Jan 11   9:37 PM

There's no reason Robinson can't do this every night which is why he's always been so tantalizing in fantasy circles. Robinson has quietly played every night and at a pretty high level this season, and came into this one averaging 8.6 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.9 blocks in 10 games this season. And all those numbers are going up slightly after this one. So far, so good with Robinson and Tom Thibodeau.

Kevin Knox hit five 3-pointers in the first half of Monday's ugly loss to the Hornets, finishing with 19 points, five rebounds, two assists and a block on 7-of-17 shooting in 29 minutes.

Jan 11   9:37 PM

Unfortunately, he also finished with five 3-pointers on the night, which matched his career high. Had his shot been falling in the second half he might have gone for a really big stat line, but as it stands, he'll settle for a season high in scoring and another ugly Knicks loss. Knox came in hitting just 41 percent of his shots on the season and didn't do anything to improve that number tonight.

T.J. McConnell (personal reasons) has been ruled out for Monday night's game against the Kings.

Jan 11   8:48 PM

McConnell is out tonight after the birth of his son on Friday, according to Pacers Reporter Scott Agness. Indiana isn't sure whether he will join them on their five-game road trip as he goes through COVID testing to be cleared as well.

Richaun Holmes (left ankle) will be a game-time decision on Monday vs the Pacers.

Jan 11   8:30 PM

The Athletic's Jason Jones reported that both Holmes and Buddy Hield feel better and will go through pregame shoot around before making a decision.

Jared Dudley won't play on Tuesday due a calf injury.

Jan 11   8:02 PM

Dudley is averaging 3.7 minutes per game this season, which is all you need to know.

Wes Matthews won't play on Tuesday against the Rockets.

Jan 11   8:02 PM

Matthews sat out Sunday's game, and now he'll miss another. Without him, expect Alex Caruso and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to step into a slightly larger role.

LeBron James (ankle) is listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Rockets.

Jan 11   8:02 PM

He's been on the injury report all season (again) and has yet to miss a game, but you have to think he's eventually going to take a day off. Just check back on Tuesday afternoon to make sure he's a go.
