Players News

Terry Rozier shot 8-of-15 from the field and 3-of-5 from the foul line in Saturday’ win over the Hawks, accounting for 23 points, four rebounds, two assists, four steals and four 3-pointers in 35 minutes.

Jan 09   9:43 PM

Rozier contines to play well, a big reason why the Hornets have continued to tread water in spite of Devonte’ Graham’s continued struggles. Through nine games he shot 45.8% from the field, 43.7% from three and 80.6% from the foul line, and the first two numbers would represent career-bests for Rozier. A top-50 player in both 8- and 9-cat formats, Scary Terry has overachieved thus far when taking his Yahoo ADP (123) into consideration.

Caleb Martin made the most of his 17 minutes in Saturday’s win over the Hawks, accounting for 15 points (6-of-9 FGs), two rebounds, two assists, one steal and three 3-pointers.

Jan 09   9:43 PM

The 15 points are a new season-high for Martin, who scored a total of 22 points in the five games prior. He isn’t worth rostering in any league format right now, but should the Hornets have an injury issues on the wing Caleb is a player to keep in mind.

Otto Porter Jr. (back spasms) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Clippers.

Jan 09   8:54 PM

OPJ is dealing with back pain that held him to just six minutes on Friday night vs the Lakers. If he can't go, his minutes will be up for grabs, and Patrick Williams, Garrett Temple, Thaddeus Young and Denzel Valentine will be the biggest beneficiaries. Williams and Young are the safest fantasy streams.

Brodric Thomas (right ankle sprain) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Lakers.

Jan 09   8:37 PM

Thomas isn't a factor, regardless of league format, so he can be left on the waiver wire.

D'Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley, Jarrett Culver, Juancho Hernangomez and Karl-Anthony Towns are starting against the Spurs on Saturday.

Jan 09   7:48 PM

Towns is playing in his first game since December 26th, and though we're unsure if he'll be on a minutes restriction, he will be in the starting lineup. The Timberwolves are suffering through a five-game losing, and have tried numerous starting lineups to no avail. Maybe this one will stick.

Mo Bamba (mild back strain) is available to play in Saturday's game against the Mavericks.

Jan 09   7:27 PM

Bamba had one of the best games of his career Friday, as he tallied 12 points, seven rebounds and two 3-pointers before exiting due to the back issue. He's worth keeping on your fantasy radar, but the young big isn't a must-add by any means.

Drew Eubanks (health and safety protocols) could be forced to quarantine for up to 14 days, according to Spurs coach Gregg Popovich.

Jan 09   7:06 PM

Popovich wasn't completely sure if Eubanks, assistant coach Becky Hammon and an unidentified staff member will have to quarantine for 14 days, but he said that this was his understanding of the league rules. Eubanks wasn't a consistent rotation player, so his absence won't have an impact in that regard.

Trey Burke is available to play in Saturday's game against the Magic.

Jan 09   7:06 PM

With Jalen Brunson (health and safety protocols) and Josh Richardson (health and safety protocols) both sidelined, there will be additional minutes available to Burke coming off the bench. For that reason, it wouldn't be a bad idea to stream Burke for the time being.

Jerome Robinson is replacing Bradley Beal (medical protocols) in the starting lineup.

Jan 09   6:50 PM

Robinson hasn't played much this season, averaging just 3.0 points, 1.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 0.4 steals per game in 13.2 minutes. He's made just 2-of-6 3-pointers, and has only taken three free throws. He isn't worth playing in most fantasy leagues.

Anthony Davis (left adductor strain) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Rockets.

Jan 09   6:30 PM

Davis was held out of Friday's game against the Bulls, the second of a back-to-back, with Frank Vogel saying that the Lakers decided to "play it safe." Expect to see him on the court, filling his usual starring role alongside LeBron James.

Bruno Fernando is available to play on Saturday against the Hornets despite a sore left hip.

Jan 09   6:30 PM

That's great news for the Hawks, but Fernando doesn't have much of an impact in fantasy leagues.

Kevin Knox (left knee soreness) is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Nuggets.

Jan 09   6:14 PM

Knox was able to play 22 minutes in Friday's loss, and he stands to take on a similar workload Sunday night. While he's been more aggressive offensively, the approach hasn't done much to improve his fantasy value. At best, Knox is worth considering in deeper leagues as the Knicks remain without Alec Burks (ankle).

Ty Jerome won't play on Sunday against the Nets due to an ankle sprain.

Jan 09   6:14 PM

Jerome hasn't played this season, and isn't an impactful fantasy player.

Kevon Looney is questionable to play on Sunday against the Raptors due to left hip soreness.

Jan 09   6:14 PM

Looney's averaging just 14 minutes per game backing up rookie James Wiseman. His absence could free up additional minutes for Eric Paschall and Juan Toscano-Anderson, though neither are worth picking up off the waiver wire. Draymond Green and Wiseman could end up playing boosted minutes, too.

Javonte Green (health and safety protocols) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Heat.

Jan 09   6:14 PM

Green was removed from the injury report on Friday, but Saturday afternoon he was back among the many Celtics listed. He isn't worth picking up -- or holding onto -- regardless of fantasy league format.

Semi Ojeleye (health and safety protocols) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Heat.

Jan 09   6:14 PM

Ojeleye has managed to earn rotation minutes, especially with Boston being shorthanded in the frontcourt. If he's cleared to play on Sunday, Ojeleye is at best worth a look in deeper leagues in the short-term.

T.J. McConnell (personal) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Suns.

Jan 09   6:14 PM

McConnell was expected to miss time eventually, as his wife is set to deliver the couple's first child in the very near future. Aaron Holiday stands to absorb the available point guard minutes.

Pat Connaughton (groin) is not listed on the injury report ahead of Saturday's game against the Cavaliers.

Jan 09   5:50 PM

Connaughton was held out of Friday's loss to the Jazz, so it looks likely that he will be available in the second game of a back-to-back. With Giannis Antetokounmpo (back spasms) listed as questionable, that's where Connaughton could gain additional minutes Saturday night.

Doug McDermott is available to play on Saturday against the Suns despite a sprained left ankle.

Jan 09   5:50 PM

McDermott's sprained ankle from Wednesday night was considered minor, and he practiced on Friday, so this isn't a surprise. The Pacers need him with T.J. Warren out indefinitely. McDermott doesn't rank in the top-200 of all player in 9-cat leagues, and Justin Holiday is the better add.

Frank Ntilikina won't play on Sunday against the Nuggets due to a sprained right knee.

Jan 09   5:50 PM

Ntilikina's set to miss his sixth straight game. His absence won't make a big fantasy impact.
