Kelly Olynyk came off the bench to hit 5-of-10 shots and three 3-pointers for 15 points, eight rebounds, four assists and a block in 29 minutes on Wednesday.
Olynyk hadn't scored more than five points or grabbed more than five boards in a game this season so this was his coming out party. He's not a must-have player in fantasy right now, but could work his way into fantasy value if he keeps scoring, hitting 3-pointers and grabbing some rebounds.
Tacko Fall (eye) saw six minutes off the bench in his regular-season debut on Wednesday and he finished with one rebound and two blocks in the blowout win.
Fall didn't touch the floor until the game was already decided, which tends to be the norm for him. Leave him on the wire.
Robert Williams came off the bench for six points, 10 rebounds, two assists, one steal, four swats and two turnovers in 23 minutes on Wednesday.
The Time Lord is a per-minute stud, so he was an easy DFS call tonight with Tristan Thompson receiving a rest day. The center rotation in Boston is quite crowded, which will result in inconsistent minutes for Williams, but he’ll be fun any time he clears the 20-minute mark. He’s on the radar in deep leagues.
Daniel Theis took advantage of some increased opportunity with Tristan Thompson (rest) on the sidelines for Wednesday's game, and he finished with 12 points, five rebounds, two assists, one steal, two blocks and two turnovers in just 19 minutes.
Theis hurt his right thumb early in the game on a drive to the hoop, but he played through it with a brace, so we suspect he’ll be fine for Friday’s game in Charlotte. He was productive tonight, but he’ll need to show us that he can do this while Tristan Thompson (rest) is active before we can recommend him as an add in most settings.
Trae Young went 8-of-18 from the field and 14-fo-16 from the stripe for 30 points, 11 assists, six rebounds and five turnovers across 32 minutes in a narrow loss to the Nets on Wednesday.
Young has now scored a total of 132 points through the first four games of the 2020-21 season, which not only leads the league but is the most points scored through the first four games in Atlanta Hawks history. It's early, but the Hawks have one of the best offenses in the league, and they appear to be on track to end their playoff drought this season.
Goran Dragic came off the bench to hit 9-of-17 shots and four 3-pointers for a season-high 26 points, five rebounds and two assists to help lead the Heat to a 119-108 win over the Bucks on Wednesday.
The Heat came back for the win after getting beat 144-97 the previous night against the Bucks, which Dragic was not happy about. "I was just pissed," he said. "I've never lost by 40 in my life." Dragic isn't starting in Miami, but he's putting up starting point guard type numbers thus far, averaging 16.5 points and 4.8 assists, which includes Tuesday's 10-minute dud in the blowout loss.
Clint Capela brought down 12 rebounds through 20 minutes of floor time in Wednesday's loss to the Nets.
Capela added seven points, one block and one turnover while he was out there, but he still doesn't look quite right and clearly needs to get his conditioning back up. He's not going to score many points, but he should be a reliable source of boards and blocks this season.
Tyus Jones logged 23 minutes as a starter in Wednesday's blowout loss to Boston, registering six points, two rebounds, two assists, two steals, one block and one turnover.
Jones' minutes were low due to the blowout, and he didn't run the offense as much as we expected him to with Kyle Anderson being the primary playmaker tonight, but this is more-or-less what you can expect from him moving forward. He won’t put up gaudy stat lines, but he's nice with the defensive stats and doesn't commit many turnovers, so he's worth a roster spot in deep leagues.
Kyle Anderson dished out nine dimes in Wednesday's blowout loss to Boston, adding nine points, four rebounds, one block and an unfortunate eight turnovers in 28 minutes.
The turnovers weren't great, and SlowMo also shot just 3-of-11 from the field in this one, but it looks like he'll be the primary playmaker while Ja Morant (ankle) is out. We'd anticipate a more productive outing on Friday in Charlotte, and we view him as a must-roster player. Dillon Brooks hit 6-of-18 shots in the loss for 16 points, five rebounds, two triples, two assists, one steal and three turnovers in 28 minutes.
Khris Middleton hit just 3-of-15 shots and missed all four of his 3-pointers for eight points, seven rebounds, nine assists and a steal in 37 minutes of Wednesday's 119-108 loss to the Heat.
Middleton had been on fire and was the No. 2 fantasy player on the season based on games played. Of course, he had played in four games while other players had only played twice, but he was killing it. He was due for an off night and got it in the second of a double header with the Heat, although he still managed to stuff the stat sheet. He'll be looking to bounce back against the struggling Bulls on New Years Day.
Donte DiVicenzo hit 5-of-14 shots with three 3-pointers for 15 points, five rebounds, one assists, three steals and a block in 30 minutes of Wednesday's loss to the Heat.
He's scored in double figures in all five games this season, has hit between two and five 3-pointers in all of them and got his first block tonight. He's averaging 14 points, 1.8 steals and 3.2 3-pointers per game thus far and should be rostered everywhere as long as he's starting for the Bucks. Tonight also marked the first time he didn't hit at least 50 percent of his shots in a game, so don't be scared off by the poor shooting on Wednesday.
Jeff Teague ripped away four steals in a spot-start on Wednesday, adding four points, five rebounds, four assists and one turnover in 21 minutes.
Teague played some solid defense against Tyus Jones, racking up three of his four steals through the first half of action, but he still had some trouble getting his shot to drop (2-of-6 FG) and he’ll likely return to a reserve role on Friday with Tristan Thompson (rest) expected back for that one. Payton Pritchard hit 4-of-6 shots for eight points, two rebounds, three assists, two steals and one turnover in 21 minutes off the bench, and he still looks like the better PG to roster while Kemba Walker (knee) is out.
Avery Bradley hit 6-of-11 shots and two 3-pointers for 16 points, two rebounds and a steal in Wednesday's win over the Bucks.
Bradley has quietly come on in his three games for the Heat, averaging 14 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.7 3-pointers. He's far from a must-own player but he is starting for the Heat and playing fairly well. Just keep an eye on him, or think about grabbing him if you're in a deep league.
Jayson Tatum (thumb) netted 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting Wednesday, to go with three triples, four rebounds, three assists and one steal in 23 minutes.
Tatum’s left thumb didn’t seem to give him any issues in this one, and this injury is to his non-shooting hand, so we’d expect him to continue to play through it. He took a bit of a backseat to the Jaylen Brown show in this one, and he didn't play at all during the fourth quarter due to the blowout, but we'd expect him to clear the 20-point plateau his next time out. As a bonus those in 9-cat leagues, he finished today's game without a single turnover.
Andre Iguodala started for Jimmy Butler (ankle) on Wednesday but didn't make a shot or score a point in the 11-point win.
Even if starting, Iguodala's not worth using in DFS as his best days are clearly behind him.
Josh Richardson (strained left calf) is available vs. the Hornets on Wednesday.
This was the expectation after Richardson was upgraded to probable on the evening injury report. Richardson should be all systems go in a great matchup and is off to a terrific start.
Andre Iguodala will start at the four vs. the Bucks on Wednesday.
Iggy was rested on Tuesday so he shouldn't have any restrictions this evening. He'll likely spend some time guarding Giannis Antetokounmpo and does offer some low-end fantasy appeal with no Jimmy Butler (ankle) this evening. Tyler Herro, Avery Bradley, Duncan Robinson and Bam Adebayo are also starting with Meyers Leonard moving to the bench.
Isaac Okoro (sprained left foot) has been ruled out for Thursday's game vs. the Pacers.
The rookie forward is also in the league's health and safety protocols, so he was likely going to sit out no matter what. Cedi Osman and Larry Nance should continue to start for the Cavs, and both guys make sense as opportunistic DFS options with Cleveland dealing with five absent or injured players.
Kevin Knox (sore left knee) is probable for Thursday's game vs. the Raptors.
Knox continues to pop up on the injury report, but he's consistently playing through soreness and there's no reason to think that will change on Thursday. He has a sliver of daylight, fantasy-wise, with Alec Burks (ankle, questionable) joining a huge injury list for New York: Austin Rivers (groin, questionable), Immanuel Quickley (hip, questionable), Dennis Smith Jr. (quad, out), Obi Toppin (calf, out), Frank Ntilikina (knee, out) and Omari Spellman (knee, out).
George Hill (neck spasms) isn't on OKC's injury report prior to Thursday's game vs. New Orleans.
The Thunder started Shai Gilgeous-Alexander alongside Isaiah Roby, Lu Dort, Justin Jackson and Darius Bazley on Tuesday, but Hill should slot right back into his starting role with minutes in the mid-20s. Deploy him as usual.
