Jeff Teague is starting for Kemba Walker on Wednesday.
Walker is getting the night off and the Celtics are thin on healthy guards, but Teague hasn't been doing much of late. Maybe he'll put it all together tonight.
Malcolm Brogdon hit 5-of-17 shots for 12 points, three rebounds, three assists, two 3-pointers, two steals and one turnover across 29 minutes in Wednesday's loss to Milwaukee.
“I think [Sabonis] and [Nikola Jokic] are the best passing bigs in the league,” Brogdon said, crediting Sabonis with the scoring boost he’s seen this season. “He’s very versatile. He’s an All-Star.” Brogdon has been Sabonis’ No. 1 dimes target this season, with 47.2% of his passes going to Malcolm, so Sabonis has certainly played a role in his rise this season. He wasn't great tonight going up against Milwaukee's elite defense, but overall, Brogdon has been pumping out top-20 value with career-highs across the board, so he could be headed for his first All-Star appearance this season.
Justin Holiday went 5-of-8 from the floor and 2-of-2 from the line for 15 points over 29 minutes in Wednesday's loss to the Bucks.
Holiday added three triples, eight rebounds, one assist, two steals, one block and zero turnovers while he was out there, and it was nice to see him come through with the defensive stats after he failed to record a single steal his last time out. This was his first game with both a steal and a block in a game since Jan. 4, and he continues to provide some low-end value sans T.J. Warren (foot) with his production in triples, steals and swats.
Jrue Holiday ripped away another three steals during Wednesday's win over the Pacers, adding 11 points (5-of-9 FG), seven rebounds, three assists, one 3-pointer, one block and three turnovers in 27 minutes.
Holiday played some excellent defense against Malcolm Brogdon, holding him to just 5-of-17 shooting from the floor, and this was his seventh game of the season with at least three steals. Khris Middleton was steal-less, and he finished with 12 points (4-of-9 FG, 3-of-3 FT), five rebounds, four assists, one 3-pointer and three turnovers in 26 minutes.
Steven Adams (calf) is starting on Wednesday.
He missed Monday's game with the injury but should be back out there tonight. And his arrival will put a damper on the minutes available to Jaxson Hayes, who will come off the tonight.
Abdel Nader (ankle soreness) will be available to play on Wednesday vs. the Pelicans.
Nader is back from a one-game absence, but with Devin Booker back, it'll be tough for Nader to make much of an impact in fantasy hoops. Leave him on the wire.
Lu Dort (left knee soreness) will not return to Wednesday's game vs. Houston.
Dort shot 0-of-5 before leaving and he finishes with two assists and zero other stats in nine minutes of action. OKC's trainers attended to Dort on the bench before he went to the locker room, and we have no details about the exact nature of the injury. If he ends up missing games, Justin Jackson and Kenrich Williams should absorb most of his minutes.
Jonas Valanciunas won't play on Thursday against the Rockets due to health and safety protocol.
Valanciunas hasn't played since January 16th. Expect Xavier Tillman and Gorgui Dieng to split the big man spot in his place. Tillman has been a bright spot for Memphis, averaging 8.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game this season. Dieng has been a hit-or-miss play depending on the night.
Onyeka Okongwu (left Achilles) will not play on Wednesday vs. Dallas.
The high-upside rookie has only played a total of 60 minutes thus far and is just a stash in dynasty leagues for the time being.
Ish Smith is starting for Russell Westbrook (rest) on Wednesday vs. Miami.
Raul Neto (left groin strain) is also out so Ish is going to be a popular streamer this evening as a great source of steals and dimes. The Wizards also have another back-to-back coming up beginning on Feb. 7th, so holding Smith for those makes sense.
Naz Reid (wrist) is playing on Wednesday against the Spurs.
Reid returned to play 13 minutes off the bench on Monday, so it isn't a surprise that he'll be playing again. His likely minutes restriction will hurt his fantasy stats output, though.
Grayson Allen (health and safety protocols) remains out for Thursday.
With the way De'Anthony Melton has played, it's going to be difficult for coach Taylor Jenkins to go back to Allen when he's cleared.
Otto Porter won't play against the Knicks on Wednesday with lower back spasms.
Porter rested on Saturday to try and get past the injury but didn't look right in Monday night's game. His status was downgraded as the week progressed. Expect additional minutes for Patrick Williams, Denzel Valentine, and Garrett Temple in his absence.
Nassir Little (left knee) will not play on Thursday vs. Philly.
The good news for Portland is that Derrick Jones (foot) has been upgraded to questionable, so Little's window for fantasy value is closing anyways. Rodney Hood and Carmelo Anthony each get a slight boost with this news.
Derrick Jones Jr. is questionable to play on Thursday with a left foot sprain.
Jones Jr. has missed the Blazers' last three games with the injury. Without Nassir Little (foot sprain) in the lineup on Thursday, Portland could be shallow at the forward spot. If Jones Jr. isn't able to play, expect big minutes for Rodney Hood and Carmelo Anthony.
The NBA reports zero new COVID-19 cases over the last week.
This is incredible news and it looks like the NBA has officially weathered the storm after a stressful January. Over the last four weeks, the amount of positives have gone down from 16, 11, 1 and now to zero.
Rudy Gay won't play on Wednesday against the Timberwolves due to left hip flexor tightness.
Gay has been filling in a rotation role off the bench averaging 22 minutes. That time will likely be divided up between DeMar DeRozan, Keldon Johnson, and Devin Vassell. His absence shouldn't make a huge impact for fantasy purposes.
Jordan Bone was waived by the Orlando Magic on Wednesday.
Bone was waived to make way for the team to sign Frank Mason to a two-way contract. He appeared in 14 games for Orlando, averaging 4.0 points, 1.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 0.2 turnovers in 14.0 minutes.
Gary Harris (left adductor strain) will not play on Thursday vs. the Lakers.
There's still no update from the Nuggets about his MRI results and coach Mike Malone said there isn't a timetable yet. With Harris out, Will Barton will have a higher floor and Monte Morris should be more involved, making him a solid streamer for assists, triples and steals.
P.J. Dozier (right hamstring strain) will not play on Thursday vs. the Lakers.
We still haven't heard a timetable for Dozier and it's a shame he's out with Gary Harris (adductor) also on the shelf.
