Players News

Zach LaVine hit 11-of-19 shots including 6-of-10 from deep, finishing with a game-high 30 points, six rebounds, three assists and two blocks.

Jan 26   12:44 AM

LaVine has scored 30 points in eight games this year as he continues to light opponents up with 26.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 5.4 assists a night. He's posting 50/38/87 shooting splits and ranks 16th in 9-cat and 10th in 8-cat which is pretty good for a guy whose ADP was 35 in Yahoo leagues.

Kevon Looney had a quiet night as a starter on Monday, scoring two points with five rebounds, four assists and a block in 19 minutes.

Jan 26   12:44 AM

Looney started vs the Wolves on Monday as Steve Kerr moved rookie James Wiseman to the bench. He wanted Looney to play with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green as he has more familiarity with them and it paid off for now as the Dubs came away with a 130-108 win. We’ll see if Kerr sticks with the lineup change, but as you can tell, Looney holds no fantasy value.

Isaiah Roby started again on Monday and hit 4-of-11 shots, a 3-pointer and 7-of-7 free throws for 16 points, three rebounds, one assist and two blocks in 27 minutes of a 125-122 win over the Blazers.

Jan 26   12:44 AM

Al Horford has been out for several games due to the birth of a child and isn't expected to play on Wednesday, either. Roby will be worth firing up for that one in Phoenix and would see season-long fantasy value if the Thunder ever trade Horford. In other words, he's worth holding onto until Horford is back, and possibly even when that happens.

Darius Bazley hit 6-of-11 shots and three 3-pointers for 19 points, seven rebounds and two assists in 29 minutes of Monday's win over the Blazers.

Jan 26   12:44 AM

Bazley has a ton of potential but hasn't been living up to it and hasn't had a steal or block in his last three games. He also hadn't scored many points in his previous eight games, but got back on track tonight. He's not a must-have player but there's a ton of upside to Bazley's game and this could be the start of a hot streak for him. Just keep a close eye on him going forward.

Theo Maledon started for the Thunder on Monday with George Hill out with a thumb injury and had six points, four rebounds, four assists and two 3-pointers on 2-of-7 shooting in 22 minutes.

Jan 26   12:44 AM

There's no way to know if Maledon might continue to start once Hill is healthy but it really doesn't matter. Just keep an eye on him in case he gets hot and keeps getting more than 20 minutes a night.

Thaddeus Young had his best game of the season on Monday vs the Celtics, recording 16 points, nine boards, nine assists, a steal and a block.

Jan 26   12:19 AM

The nine assists were a season high for Young and the nine boards tied a season high. He made 8 of his 11 field goals, which was also his best mark this year, and he topped it off by adding some defensive stats to round out his night. We wouldn't go running to add the veteran forward just yet because he's inconsistent at this time and he also played extra minutes tonight solely because Wendell Carter Jr. (thigh bruise) was out.

Daniel Theis torched the Bulls for 19 points, three rebounds, three assists, three steals, three blocks and a 3-pointer on 8-of-12 shooting in Monday's win over the Bulls.

Jan 26   12:19 AM

The three steals were a season high and the three blocks and assists tied his season highs. He is averaging 16.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.3 steals, 1.3 blocks and 1.0 3-pointers over his last four games. If you need a big man, Theis is hot right now and worth a look, even with Jayson Tatum back in action.

Coby White did a whole lot of nothing on Monday, scoring just five points with two rebounds and an assist in 24 minutes.

Jan 26   12:19 AM

White shot 2-of-6 from the field, made just one 3-pointer, committed three fouls and had two turnovers vs the Celtics in a 119-103 loss. It was the first time this season he didn't produce at least three assists and it was the fourth time that he failed to reach double-digit points. We've accepted the fact that it's going to be an up and down year for the sophomore guard and you should, too. But hopefully, it's more of the former.

Marcus Smart hit 4-of-6 shots, a 3-pointer and 4-of-4 free throws for 13 points, five rebounds, a season-high 11 assists, two steals and a block in Monday's 119-103 win over the Bulls.

Jan 26   12:19 AM

Smart had 12 points, nine dimes and five steals in his previous game and scored 20 and 25 points in his two games prior to that. He's scored in double figures in seven straight, has been a steals and assists machine, and had even blocked a shot in each of his last two games. And he 11 dimes tied his career high. The Celtics are going to be very careful with Kemba Walker's knee this season and Smart is worth using whether Walker's playing or not. For the record, Walker was out to rest his knee tonight, but has played well when he's been in there for the Celtics this season.

Dwight Howard was awfully quiet in Monday night's loss, recording five points, four rebounds, two steals and a block in 24 minutes.

Jan 26   12:03 AM

Howard got the spot start with Joel Embiid (back) resting but didn't do much with the opportunity. He was also replaced by Tony Bradley who finished with 12 points, nine rebounds and a block in 23 minutes off the bench. Bradley might be the better streaming option next time Embiid sits a game.

Goran Dragic started on Monday despite a foot injury and hit 7-of-13 shots and six 3-pointers for 21 points, six rebounds and five assists in a 98-85 loss to the Nets.

Jan 26   12:03 AM

The Heat are currently missing several key players, including Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro, so Dragic is an excellent option in any format until they are back, and possibly even after. And despite some of the big numbers Dragic put up tonight, none of them are even season highs for him.

Tony Bradley had his best scoring night of the season on Monday, recording 12 points, nine rebounds and a block in 23 minutes off the bench.

Jan 26   12:03 AM

Bradley started the second half over veteran Dwight Howard who started the game with Joel Embiid (back) out for rest purposes. He shot 5-of-7 from the floor and 2-of-2 from the line, just missing what would've been his second double-double of the season. If Bradley can make the most of his minute like he did tonight, he might be a decent streaming option over Howard the next time Embiid is out.

Kendrick Nunn came off the bench and hit 5-of-17 shots and 1-of-8 3-pointers for 11 points, two rebounds, two assists and a block in Monday's loss to the Nets.

Jan 26   12:03 AM

He's been hot lately with Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro in the COVID protocols but they're going to be back sooner than later. He's scored in double figures in five straight games and had scored at least 18 in four straight before tonight's shooting woes. He's worth holding, at least until we see his teammates back in action.

Kyrie Irving hit just 6-of-17 shots, 1-of-4 3- pointers and 3-of-3 free throws for 16 points, eight rebounds, four assists and a steal in Monday's 98-85 win over the Heat.

Jan 26   12:03 AM

He took four fewer shots than Kevin Durant and seven more shots than James Harden, who shot 70 percent from the floor tonight. Luckily for the Nets, they righted the ship in the fourth quarter and went on a 28-14 run to get the win, which is when Harden did most of his damage. This team is a delicate balance, like trying to drive a Ferrari over a high speed bump without causing issues, but so far everyone seems to be getting along and they're winning games. We're just not sure how much long Harden is going to agree to sit in the backseat of a Ferrari. There's like, no leg room back there.

Anthony Davis salvaged an off-shooting night on Monday to finish with 17 points, 10 boards, four dimes, three steals and three blocks vs the Cavs.

Jan 26   12:03 AM

Davis made just 5-of-16 shots vs the Cavs but the night belonged to LeBron James who dropped a season-high 46 points. The defensive stats saved AD's fantasy outing and he now has 12 blocks and 10 steals over his last five games. The scoring might fluctuate, but you can always expect Davis to fill up the stat sheet one way or another.

James Harden was incredibly passive through two and a half quarters of Monday's game against the Heat but turned it on late, hitting 7-of-10 shots and finishing with 20 points, four rebounds, eight assists, a steal, a block and three 3-pointers in 34 minutes.

Jan 26   12:03 AM

Steve Nash says that Harden's going to be more aggressive once he's comfortable with his new teammates but the guy only had seven points halfway through the third quarter. After busting out of the gates with 32- and 34-point games for the Nets, Harden has looked more like the guy who didn't care in Houston over his last four games than the superstar we know he can be. Harden has been a really interesting player in a really weird season thus far, but still has plenty of time to start playing like the best offensive player in the league. If he feels like it.

JaMychal Green came off the bench and hit 5-of-9 shots and three 3-pointers for 17 points, eight rebounds, one assist and two steals in Monday's tough win over the Mavericks.

Jan 26   12:03 AM

JAM has scored in double figures in three of his four last games and looked better than starter Will Barton tonight. Michael Porter Jr. is getting ready to rejoin the starting five (we'd think) and it's possible that Green could end up having more fantasy value than Barton if they're both coming off the bench. Neither player is a must-have guy right now, but fantasy managers will want to keep an eye on this battle going forward.

Taurean Prince went 2-of-6 on field goals with one 3-pointer in Monday's loss to the Lakers, finishing with seven points, five boards, four assists and a steal in 25 minutes.

Jan 26   12:03 AM

Prince started with Larry Nance Jr. (wrist) who sat out and also because the Cavs are slowly easing Darius Garland back into the rotation. He failed to score in double-digits for the second consecutive game, however, and only made one triple after making at least two in three straight contests. He'll likely return to the bench Wednesday as Garland is expected to re-join the starting unit.

Kristaps Porzingis was back from a night off in order to rest his knee and hit 6-of-18 shots, 1-of-8 3-pointers and 3-of-4 free throws for 16 points, six rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 33 minutes of Monday's loss to the Nuggets.

Jan 26   12:03 AM

The Mavs play again on Wednesday and Friday in tough matchups at Utah and then play the Suns on Saturday. Hopefully Porzingis is able to play in all three games, but there's a chance he could get another day off on Friday or Saturday, so just keep an eye on it.

Willie Cauley-Stein started on Monday but missed all three of his shots for two points, three rebounds, one assist and one steal in 27 minutes of a loss to the Nuggets.

Jan 26   12:03 AM

He also hit just 2-of-4 free throws and WCS has now scored seven or fewer points in three of his last four games. He also hasn't been racking up rebounds or blocks at a noticeable pace and if he's on your roster, he should be near the bottom of it. If you've got plenty of centers, WCS is probably someone who can be dropped for a hot free agent at this point.
