Andrew Drummond had a monster game vs the Lakers on Monday, posting 25 points and 17 rebounds in 28 minutes.
Drummond logged yet another double-double but it took him 21 shots to score 25 points in the game. Still, he had a solid night for playing less than 30 minutes and splitting time with backup Jarrett Allen (29 minutes) who finished with just six points, five rebounds and two blocks.
Cedi Osman had a good all-around game on Monday, recording 20 points, two boards, two dimes, three steals and five 3-pointers in the loss to the Lakers.
Osman shot the ball really well vs the defending champs, hitting 6-of-11 field goals, 5-of-8 from deep and 3-of-4 free throws in 32 minutes. He has three 20-point games in his last five outings and is averaging 13.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists and two triples a night this season. The Cavs forward is having the best year of his career and is still available in 65% of Yahoo leagues. He should be rostered in all deep leagues.
James Johnson came off the bench and hit 7-of-8 shots and two 3-pointers for 16 points, three rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 31 minutes off the bench on Monday.
Johnson hadn't scored more than six points in his previous three games but was playing well prior to that stretch. It looks like he could be ready to heat up again and Rick Carlisle praised his toughness after the game. It wouldn't be surprising to see him remain a factor off the Mavs bench all season, but he'll have to continue to play well before being worth grabbing in most fantasy leagues.
T.J. McConnell hit 4-of-6 shots and a 3-pointer for a season highs of nine points, five rebounds, nine assists and two blocks, and also had two steals in 29 minutes off the bench on Monday.
He also played well on Sunday and it looks like he's now had at least five assists in 12 of his 17 games this season, and has notched at least six dimes in six straight games. Scoring will be an issue for TJM regardless, but if you're looking for some cheap assists, he's got them.
Jerami Grant returned to his normal self on Monday night, posting 25 points, eight rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block.
Grant knocked off the rust from his last two games, hitting 6-of-13 field goals with three 3-pointers and a perfect 10-of-10 from the charity stripe. It helped that his teammates Delon Wright (28 pts) and Wayne Ellington (20 pts) also had it going as it opened up the floor for Grant to get high-quality looks. He's among the league leaders in 20-point games this season and it was good to see him notch another one tonight.
Tobias Harris led the Sixers in scoring on Monday night, finishing with 25 points, seven rebounds, two assists and a block.
Harris carried the Sixers offense with Joel Embiid (back) out and was the only starter to score over 11 points. He made 10-of-19 field goals, marking the fourth time this season that he's hit at least 10 shots in a game. Harris splashed in a trio of triples as well and is making 2.3 per game on a 46% clip while chipping in a steal and a block. It's no surprise he's producing top-35 numbers in 9-cat this year.
Kelly Olynyk hit just 1-of-7 shots and was 0-for-5 from downtown to finish with two points, six rebounds and two blocks in just 18 minutes of a 98-85 loss to the Nets.
Olynyk has been struggling of late, scoring in single digits in five of his last six while shooting it dreadfully from the floor. Chances are he'll break out of the slump at some point but he's going to start showing up on waivers in a lot of leagues. If that happens and you notice him heating up again, he should provide some value all season.
Wayne Ellington shot 7-of-10 from the floor in the Pistons' 119-104 win over the Sixers, finishing with 20 points, six 3-pointers, two rebounds and three assists.
Nobody has been lighting it up in the NBA lately like veteran shooting guard Wayne Ellington. He has 95 points and 27 3-pointers over his last five games and is shooting 58% from the field and 60% from deep. Name someone who's been hotter over the past week. We'll wait. Unreal numbers from the Pistons wing who's given the team's backcourt a major boost with Derrick Rose and Killian Hayes sidelined. If you're need of threes and effective shooting, snag Ellington who has been picked over 13% in the last seven days in Yahoo leagues.
Goga Bitadze played 12 minutes and hit 3-of-5 shots and 4-of-4 free throws for 10 points, two rebounds and two blocks in Monday's 129-114 win over the Raptors.
This was just his second game of the season after being sidelined with an ankle injury all year and he might have a big opportunity coming, depending on how Domantas Sabonis' MRI on his left knee goes. Bitadze is not a guy you need to run out and pick up, but he is a guy to keep an eye on, especially when we learn how much time Sabonis might miss.
Josh Jackson finished Monday's with 12 points and seven rebounds but was ejected in the final frame after picking up his second technical foul.
Jackson was ejected around the 7:30 mark in the fourth quarter after things got a little heated with Ben Simmons. He was frustrated and tossed the ball at the ref, drawing his second tech and getting kicked out of the game. Jackson also had some choice words for Simmons (link below) before his exit and finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks. He now has eight blocks over his last three games and prior to tonight, he became the first guard in franchise history to record three swats in back-to-back contests, per the Pistons.
Terry Rozier bounced back from hitting 2-of-10 shots on Sunday by knocking down 10-of-18 shots and four 3-pointers for 24 points, two assists, a steal and a block in Monday's loss to the Magic.
Rozier couldn't get anything going on Sunday and had hit just 6-of-22 shots over his last two, but was back in form tonight. The Hornets go three more times this week in tough matchups, getting the Pacers on Wednesday and Friday and the Bucks on Saturday.
Blake Griffin had another off night on Monday, scoring just seven points on 2-of-8 shooting, 1-of-4 from distance, 2-of-5 from the line along with four fouls and three turnovers.
For the second straight game, Griffin scored seven points and how now failed to reach double-digit scoring in five games this season including three of his last four. He had four boards, two assists, a steal and a block, but he's simply not producing consistent fantasy numbers and you have to wonder how much longer Dwayne Casey will leave him in the starting lineup.
OG Anunoby backed up his season-high 30-point performance from Sunday with 10 points, five rebounds, two assists and two 3-pointers in Monday's loss to the Pacers.
Anunoby went to the locker room to be checked for a concussion after getting popped in the mouth but was able to return near the end of the game. He should be fine for Wednesday's game against the Bucks and could be in for another big night if Pascal Siakam misses another game with his swollen knee. With Siakam out again tonight we were expecting a much better night from Anunoby, but he couldn't rekindle the magic from Sunday.
Kyle Lowry hit just 2-of-11 shots, 1-of-5 3-pointers and 7-of-7 free throws for 12 points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal in his return from an infected toe on Monday.
Lowry didn't look like himself and his toe injury sounds like it could be pretty painful. Hopefully he'll continue to get treatment and be ready to go against the Bucks on Wednesday.
Norman Powell started over Stanley Johnson (who was starting for Pascal Siakam (knee)) and went off for 24 points, six rebounds, six assists, a steal and two 3-pointers on 8-of-19 shooting with just one turnover on Monday.
Don't look now, but Powell has been killing it, averaging 22.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.3 3-pointers over his last three games. He's clearly been helped by the absence of guys like Kyle Lowry (toe) and Pascal Siakam (knee) so it was nice to see him play so well with Lowry back in the lineup. Siakam is still iffy for Wednesday and if he's out again, it should be safe to fire up Powell again on Wednesday night.
P.J. Dozier left Monday's game against the Mavericks with a right hamstring injury and will not return.
That should possibly mean a few extra minutes for Gary Harris and Monte Morris, while Dozier should be considered day-to-day for now.
P.J. Washington hit 1-of-6 shots for a season-low two points, six rebounds, four assists and nothing else in Monday's 117-108 loss to the Magic.
PJW may officially be in a funk after scoring just nine points on Sunday, but at least he had three steals, two blocks and a 3-pointer in that one. He's been a bit up and down over the course of the season but as long as he's starting for the Hornets, he should be starting for your fantasy team.
Robert Covington (concussion) could return on Thursday when the Blazers begin their road trip in Houston.
Terry Stotts told Blazersradio that RoCo will 'hopefully' be able to join the team Thursday after he clears the league's concussion protocols. Rodney Hood and Derrick Jones Jr. should play bigger roles tonight in his absence but Gary Trent Jr. and Carmelo Anthony are in the starting lineup.
Reggie Bullock (neck) won't play for the Knicks on Tuesday.
That should mean plenty more opportunities for Alec Burks, who had 18 points and five 3-pointers on Sunday, and Immanuel Quickley, who came off the bench for a career-high 31 points and five triples in that one.
Josh Richardson, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Dwight Powell were all seen at shootaround before the Mavericks' game on Monday.
This is a good sign for the Mavericks' rotation players who have all been out since January 7th or 9th due to medical protocol. It's time to start thinking about picking them back up as we near their return, which could be sometime in the next week.
