Kevin Porter Jr. (personal) won't play on Tuesday vs. New York.
We really have no idea what's going on with KPJ or why he's been away from the team for so long, but we didn't see him at all during the preseason and the lack of transparency here is somewhat concerning. There's opportunity for him in Cleveland, but he's been away so long now, that once he does get back, he'll then need to go through at least a few weeks of conditioning before he's cleared. You can stash him in 16-team settings, but it might be time to move on in shallower formats.
Isaac Okoro has been ruled out for Tuesday with a left foot sprain and is also in the NBA health and safety protocols.
It's bad news that he's been ruled out this early, but it may be because of the protocols situation. Cedi Osman should continue to eat with Okoro, Kevin Porter Jr. (personal) and Dylan Windler (hand) all still hurting.
Torrey Craig (broken nose) will not play on Tuesday vs. Miami.
He shouldn't be out for too long with the broken nose, but he's a negligible part of the rotation when healthy, so his playing status does not impact fantasy hoops.
Trae Young, Cam Reddish, De'Andre Hunter, John Collins and Clint Capela will start for the Hawks on Tuesday night.
That means Bogdan Bogdanovic, who has been struggling to start the season, will come off the bench agar for the Hawks. It's not clear whether Lloyd Pierce has settled on a set lineup. Danilo Gallinari is out but it looks like both of the Hawks' new acquisitions could be heading for permanent roles off the bench. It doesn't mean disaster for their fantasy value, but things would look a little more promising if they were full-time starters for the ridiculously deep Hawks. And conversely, the fact that Reddish and Hunter are starting is good news for them.
Brad Stevens hinted on Monday that he's considering changing his Daniel Theis-Tristan Thompson starting frontcourt.
“I was hopeful that lineup would be very good defensively. I'm still hopeful of that," said Stevens when asked about the old school, frontcourt pairing that Boston has rolled with through their first three games of the year. "With that said, we have to have everything on the table because we’re playing such a tough schedule and it doesn't stop." The Celtics have suffered back-to-back losses with Theis and Thompson in the starting lineup, but Theis saw just 15 minutes in Sunday's narrow loss to the Pacers, so he might be the guy to get the boot if Stevens tinkers with his starting unit. Robert Williams is the most attractive center on the roster from a fantasy standpoint, but the logjam at his position lowers his overall upside. Theis isn't worth rostering in most leagues.
Jeff Green (stitches above right eye) will be available to play on Monday vs. Memphis.
Green needed a few stitches to close up a wound above his right eye after taking an elbow to the face on Sunday, but he will continue to play through it tonight, and he may see some extra shots falling his way with Kyrie Irving (rest) and Kevin Durant (rest) taking the night off.
Furkan Korkmaz suffered a left adductor (leg) strain on Sunday and will be reevaluated in two weeks.
He was averaging 18 minutes, 6.0 points and 2.0 rebounds so he this isn't a fantasy blow, but he was playing a nice role for the Sixers. We'll know more about his status once his two-week hiatus is over.
Jontay Porter (sore right knee) will not play on Monday vs. the Nets.
It's unclear how long the sore knee will keep him out, but he likely wouldn't be in the rotation, anyway. We're going to flip him to "out indefinitely," and we will not provide another update until he makes progress with the knee injury.
Killian Tillie (hamstring) will remain on the sidelines for Monday's matchup with the Nets.
We're not anticipating Tillie to be a rotation player in Memphis this year, so he can safely remain on waiver wires everywhere.
Edmond Sumner (illness) is questionable for Tuesday's game vs. Boston.
Whether he plays or not will not make a bit of difference in fantasy hoops.
Ty Jerome won't play in Monday's game due to his lingering left ankle sprain.
He also missed the opener but could carve out a small role in the rotation after the Thunder picked up his third-year option this weekend.
Alen Smailagic (knee) will not be available for Tuesday's game vs. Detroit.
We don't know when he'll make his regular-season debut, but we do know that he has no business being rostered in almost any setting.
Nassir Little (COVID-protocol) will not play on Monday vs. the Lakers.
Carmelo Anthony (COVID-protocol) and Zach Collins (ankle) will join Little on the sidelines tonight, and it's unclear when Little or Melo will be allowed to return to the team. None of these guys are worth your attention in standard fantasy leagues, though.
Marcus Morris (knee) will go through practice on Monday.
Coach Ty Lue said he'll see how Morris feels before determining his status for Tuesday vs. the Wolves. The Clippers also play the Blazers on Wednesday, so it's possible Morris only plays in one as the Clippers work him back slowly.
Dennis Smith Jr. (bruised left quad) will not play on Tuesday vs. the Cavaliers.
He's expected to rejoin the team on their 4-game road trip. DSJ is miles off the fantasy radar anyways.
JaMychal Green (calf) will remain on the sidelines for Monday's game vs. the Rockets.
He still hasn't been cleared for full-contact work, so we can assume he's still not close. Paul Millsap, Michael Porter Jr. and PJ Dozier will continue to pick up the slack in his absence.
Kevin Knox (sore left knee) is probable for Tuesday's game against the Cavs.
Knox played through the knee issue on Sunday, and we'd anticipate that to continue tomorrow night. Alec Burks (ankle) is questionable for Tuesday's game, so if he's forced to the sidelines, that could create some more offensive opportunities for Knox, which would put him on the DFS radar. Stay tuned.
Immanuel Quickley (hip) will not play on Tuesday vs. the Cavs.
Tomorrow will mark Quickley's third straight game on the sidelines and him getting ruled out a day in advance of tip-off suggests he's not close to a return. Tom Thibodeau tends to keep his rookies on an extremely short leash, so we wouldn't recommend rostering Quickley outside of dynasty leagues.
Austin Rivers (groin) will remain on the sidelines for Tuesday's game vs. the Cavs.
Rivers has yet to make his New York debut, and the Knicks will likely be extra cautious bringing him back due to the tricky nature of groin injuries. He's not worth stashing in most cases.
Omari Spellman (knee) will not play on Tuesday vs. Cleveland.
Even when healthy, it's unlikely Spellman will crack the rotation in New York.
