Harry Giles saw just 15 minutes off the bench in Monday's blowout loss to the Spurs, finishing with a mere two points, three rebounds, one assist and one turnover.

Jan 18   7:17 PM

Giles did show some nice hustle on defense, but that didn't translate to the box score, and he was extremely passive on offense with just two FGA on the evening. We thought there would be more opportunity available for him while Jusuf Nurkic (wrist) was out, but that hasn't been the case over the past two games. Enes Kanter finished with nine points, eight rebounds, five assists and one turnover through 27 minutes as a starter, so he's clearly the better Portland big to roster while Nurkic is out.

Carmelo Anthony hit 6-of-13 shots for 14 points, two 3-pointers, three rebounds, two assists, two steals, one block and one turnover in 26 minutes off the bench on Monday.

Jan 18   6:59 PM

Melo is going to see some increased opportunity while C.J. McCollum (foot) and Jusuf Nurkic (wrist) are out, but we wouldn't anticipate the defensive stats to become a thing, as he's averaging just 0.8 steals and 0.5 blocks per game on the season. The general lack of output in the defensive categories, partnered with his 40.5 shooting percentage on the season limits his upside, but he does provide some low-end value in fantasy hoops thanks to the points (12.2) and triples (1.8).

Gary Trent Jr. missed all three of his 3-point attempts on Monday, and went 1-of-9 from the floor on his way to two points, three rebounds, one assist and one turnover in 24 minutes off the bench.

Jan 18   6:59 PM

Trent Jr. was fantastic his last time out with 18 points on 7-of-14 shooting in a comeback win over the Hawks, but he just couldn't get anything to drop today, and that inconsistency has been an unfortunate trend for him this season. He's going to have some increased opportunity over the next three games while C.J. McCollum (foot) is out, but his up-and-down production so far this season relegates him to deep-league status.

DeMar DeRozan posted a 20-point, 11-assist double-double in Monday's MLK Day win over Portland.

Jan 18   6:42 PM

DeRozan was uber-efficient in this one, going 6-of-9 from the field and 8-of-8 from the charity stripe, and he added six rebounds, two steals and four turnovers in his 32 minutes of floor time. The Spurs have now won six of their past eight games, and they currently hold the No. 5 seed out West. They missed the postseason last year which had some folks concerned about management potentially blowing up the roster, but that will be an unfounded fear as long as the Spurs are competitive for a playoff spot.

Dejounte Murray handed out 11 dimes in Monday's win over Portland, adding nine points, nine rebounds, one 3-pointer, one block and just one turnover in 32 minutes.

Jan 18   6:42 PM

Murray did an excellent job of running the offense today, dishing out nine dimes before committing his first (and only) turnover, and he also did a nice job of making things difficult for Damian Lillard. Murray led the starters in plus/minus with a rating of plus-14, but Keldon Johnson had a team-worst plus/minus rating of minus-two and finished with 10 points, four rebounds, one assist, one 3-pointer and two turnovers in 25 minutes.

Patty Mills dropped in another five triples during Monday's win over Portland, adding 21 points, one rebound and one assist in 24 minutes off the bench.

Jan 18   6:42 PM

Mills was hot from the jump, drilling his first four shots while going 3-of-3 from distance, and he finished the game on 8-of-11 shooting without committing a single turnover. He's been flirting with late-round value in 9-cat leagues this season behind averages of 14.7 points, 3.1 treys, 3.1 dimes and just 0.8 turnovers per game on 47.4% shooting, so give him a look if those numbers are appealing.

De'Andre Hunter went 8-of-15 from the field and 6-of-7 from the line for a season-high 25 points in Monday's 108-97 win over Minnesota.

Jan 18   6:20 PM

Hunter added three triples, four rebounds, two assists and three steals in his 37 minutes of action, but he also committed an unfortunate six turnovers in what was a fairly sloppy win for the Hawks. He also appeared to tweak his right hand after throwing down a huge dunk early in the game, but he played through it, so it's probably nothing. Hunter had just eight total 20-point games his rookie year, but through the first 13 games of this season he's already tallied four and he's putting up top-60 value on the year.

Josh Okogie (hamstring) saw 22 minutes of action on Monday, finishing with four points, two rebounds, two assists, one block and one turnover in a loss to the Hawks.

Jan 18   6:20 PM

The hamstring issue didn't seem to give him any trouble, but the stat line shows why he's only rostered in 1% of Yahoo! Leagues. Leave him on the wire.

John Collins hit 6-of-8 shots for 15 points, seven rebounds, one 3-pointer, two assists, four blocks and two turnovers through 36 minutes in Monday's win over Minnesota.

Jan 18   6:02 PM

Collins matched his career-high with the swats today, and he was also a perfect 2-of-2 at the charity stripe. However, this was the third time over the past five games that he's seen single-digit shot attempts, and while Collins isn't the type of player who needs a massive usage to produce (his usage was at 21.3 last year), his lowly 15.0 usage rate over the past five games is a bit concerning. That said, he finished today's game with a team-high plus/minus rating of plus-22, threw down some impressive alley-oops, and he appears to be getting more comfortable playing with Clint Capela. He's not out of the woods just yet, but he is moving in the right direction.

Jarrett Culver snatched three steals and blocked one shot across 19 minutes off the bench in Monday's loss to the Hawks.

Jan 18   5:45 PM

Culver added seven points (3-of-6 FG, 1-of-2 FT), seven rebounds and three turnovers while he was out there, and he should be seeing more opportunity on offense over the next few weeks while Karl-Anthony Towns (COVID-19) is in quarantine. He's worth a look in 16-team settings, although he's too inconsistent to roster in standard leagues.

Naz Reid hit 4-of-9 shots for nine points, one 3-pointer, two rebounds, one assist, two steals, one block and two turnovers through 28 minutes as a starter on Monday.

Jan 18   5:45 PM

Karl-Anthony Towns (COVID-19) is expected to miss the next two weeks (six games) as he's forced into quarantine, so Reid is suddenly back on the radar as a viable fantasy option. Through four starts this season, he's produced averages of 12.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.0 trey, 1.8 assists, 1.3 steals, 0.8 swats and 1.3 turnovers per contest on 52.6% shooting.

Dakota Mathias is going to be waived by the Sixers.

Jan 18   5:26 PM

Mathias filled in when several Sixers went into quarantine, averaging 6.0 points and 1.6 assists in 15.4 minutes per game. He made eight appearances and started two games. This roster change is for flexibility reasons, and Philly doesn't have another imminent move in place.

Malik Beasley went just 5-of-17 from the field on his way to 15 points, four triples, five rebounds, three assists, one steal, one block and three turnovers in 34 minutes.

Jan 18   5:26 PM

Beasley got hot late, but he was awful for most of the game, not reaching double figures in the scoring department until late in the fourth quarter. Anthony Edwards also had a tough time getting his shot to drop, going 5-of-16 from the field for 12 points, five rebounds, two 3-pointers, two assists and one turnover in 30 minutes off the bench.

Cameron Payne (right ankle) will be available to play on Monday vs. Memphis.

Jan 18   4:08 PM

He'll be back from a two-game absence, which could result in Jevon Carter picking up a DNP-CD. Payne isn't worth a roster spot in the vast majority of leagues.

Cole Anthony only hit 2-of-12 shots on Monday vs. the Knicks, finishing with six points, five rebounds, one assist, one steal, one block and two triples in 28 minutes.

Jan 18   3:13 PM

Anthony hasn’t been a must-start player by any means since Markelle Fultz (knee) went down, coming into Monday’s game with 13.2 points, 3.6 dimes, 3.2 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.0 triples on 36% from the field and 78% from the line. Coach Steve Clifford said Evan Fournier (back) will return any day now, so that will take some usage away from Anthony as well. He's a low-end streamer at best.

Mitchell Robinson (sore right knee) hit just 2-of-6 foul shots on Monday vs. Orlando, scoring six points (2-of-5 FGs) with 10 rebounds, one steal and one block in 34 minutes.

Jan 18   2:43 PM

He's had some struggles against some of the bigger centers this season, with Andre Drummond toasting him a couple games ago and Nikola Vucevic scoring 24 points with 12 rebounds in this one. However, coach Tom Thibodeau is giving him a long leash to play through his mistakes so that he can develop properly, something we wish the previous coaching staff had done. Robinson has been flirting with top-40 value in 9-cat, but has really struggled from the line. He's now a combined 11-of-25 (44%) on the season, but the good news is that it's pretty low volume.

Tomas Satoransky (COVID-19) will not play on Monday vs. the Rockets.

Jan 18   2:17 PM

Satoransky recently joined Chandler Hutchison for individual workouts at the Advocate Center, so he'll be back any day now. He's likely to be eased back into things after so much time on the shelf, though. He's still worth a look in deeper leagues if you're targeting assists.

Josh Okogie (hamstring) is available for Monday vs. the Hawks.

Jan 18   1:18 PM

He was probable for their game on the 15th, but that one was postponed. Okogie should see a bump in minutes without Juancho Hernangomez (medical protocols) but hasn't shown much upside in fantasy leagues so far.

Danilo Gallinari (right ankle sprain) will not play on Monday vs. the Wolves.

Jan 18   1:02 PM

Coach Lloyd Pierce did say that Gallo has made good progress, and the Hawks announced over the weekend that he “has progressed to half-court individual workouts and will now be re-introduced to contact activity.” His return is imminent, so make sure he's not on the waiver wire.

Alec Burks (left ankle) has been officially ruled out for Monday vs. Orlando.

Jan 18   11:46 AM

Burks was previously listed as doubtful. His ankle is improving, but he'll need to ramp up his conditioning before playing. He's still a strong stash.
